Nike is set to launch a brand new Air Max 98 NRG that comes in an aesthetic similar to Nike China’s Space Capsule that celebrated their Space Program.

This offering of the Nike Air Max 98 features a Silver foil-like upper with Off-White leather overlays. adidas Unveils New Recyclable Sneaker

adidas Futurecraft Loop Generation 2 Release Date

Following its debut of the recyclable Futurecraft Loop, adidas has unveiled their newest recyclable sneaker called, the Generation 2, which was made by reconstructing used shoes.

The original Futurecraft Loop was tested by a group of 200 people in April. adidas then took the shoes that were worn and returned and melted them and fused the remains together to create the Futurecraft Loop Generation 2. The shoe comes built using the same 100% recyclable single-material upper and adds a gradient Blue pattern.

“We collected the shoes, recycled them, kept them in our supply chain and ultimately remade the recycled material into new running shoe components,” Adidas Running Footwear Developer Amanda Verbeck said. “The material is melted and developed into new pellets, which are heated to form new components including the eyelets and outsole. Virgin TPU material is used to create the remaining components of the midsole and upper.”

adidas will be sending the Generation 2 sneakers back to the group soon to completed their “closed loop” process. A release date to the public will take place during Spring/Summer 2021.

New Balance Test Run PRJ 3.0 Release Date

New Balance is launching a new limited edition shoe with a sustainable approach: the Test Run PRJ 3.0. This shoe was created in the New Balance Global Design Center by footwear designer Seth Maxwell, who was inspired by the challenge of building a shoe that leverages surplus materials.

New Balance’s Test Run Program is dedicated to testing new and unique ideas in performance footwear. The program began in July 2018 to challenge the creation process, aimed at bringing designers’ footwear concepts that don’t necessarily fit the product brief, to life. The goal? Deliver new innovative products to consumers with unprecedented speed.

For the Test Run PRJ 3.0, the team was challenged to take an existing midsole and create a limited edition silhouette using surplus materials, preventing the disposal of some leftover materials. This results in each pair of are completely unique, with no two pairs (or even two shoes) being the same.
