Nike’s next Pegasus Plus appears to be a real attempt at honing in on the model. Early images of the shoe show a new upper, tweaked midsole setup and sharpened profile that altogether lets the shoe sit cleanly between the base Pegasus and Pegasus Premium offerings.
While the original Pegasus Plus was packed with ZoomX foam, it never really established itself as the no-brainer mid-point option within Nike’s running universe. The Pegasus 41 and Pegasus 42 continued to run strong in the daily trainer lane while the Premium iterations told the more substantial tech tale. This updated silhouette feels much more pointed.
Nike ostensibly says goodbye to the Flyknit upper with the next Pegasus Plus. These early images reveal what appears to be engineered mesh material, fitted with a defined side cage and cutout accents through the rest of the panels. The shoe carries a crisper profile than the original Pegasus Plus as well but still matches the aesthetic of the rest of the Pegasus line.
Changes to the underfoot do more to differentiate this updated Plus from its predecessors. Rather than stuff the whole sole with ZoomX foam like before, the next iteration appears to feature ZoomX foam in the forefoot paired with visible Zoom Air cushioning. This maintains the shoe’s classification as a responsive trainer but should offer a different feel through toe-off.
Nike has yet to confirm official details on the shoe. We’re expecting a late 2026/early 2027 release date with pricing likely landing somewhere between $150-200 USD.
