New Balance has revealed the latest sneaker to join the NB Hoops family: the BB9000. Offering a sneak-peak into what the future of what New Balance Basketball looks like, the BB9000 is a one-of-a-kind silhouette that blends high fashion and New Balance heritage into a modern basketball shoe.

Drawing inspiration from high-fashion boots and New Balance’s most innovative technology, the mission of the BB9000 was to create a retro to future crossover shoe that blends elements of New Balance’s top lifestyle shoes and world-class performance shoes.

As a nod to New Balance’s history in the hoops category, the BB9000’s retro feel comes from the OG New Balance basketball shoes, the 480 and 550. And to complete the performance meets lifestyle storyline, standout branding elements were pulled from the classic 1300 and 574 lifestyle silhouettes to provide a blend of the brand’s staple of products.

New Balance BB9000 Release Date

Look for the first round of New Balance BB9000 colorways to release on April 1st at select retailers and NewBalance.com. Additional colorways will be releasing throughout 2021. The retail price tag is set at $140 USD.
