The New Balance 1890 is getting a blue, silver, and black makeover that lines up closely with Detroit’s football colors. That connection has already earned the shoe a “Detroit Lions” nickname, but there is no official collaboration with the team.

Blue does most of the work across the upper, covering the mesh base and the glossy overlays around the toe and midfoot. Silver piping follows those panels and also frames the oversized “N” logos on both sides. Look closer and there is a faint geometric pattern worked into the mesh, adding some detail without changing the overall look.

Black fills in the tongue, laces, lining, midsole, and heel, giving the brighter colors more contrast. The rear of the shoe has a more technical finish with textured black panels, small New Balance branding, and “1890” printed along the lateral heel.

Underfoot, blue cushioning sections break up the black midsole, while ABZORB branding appears near the heel. The outsole stays mostly black, with blue accents running through the center and along parts of the edge.

The New Balance 1890 “Detroit Lions” is set to release during Fall/Winter 2026 through NewBalance.com and select retailers. Retail price is $190.
