New Balance is giving the 2000L a darker look for the colder months with a new “Thunder Brown” colorway. The entire shoe stays within the same earthy palette, using different shades of brown to bring out the model’s layered construction.

Light brown mesh fills the toe box, midfoot, tongue, and around the collar. Smooth overlays sit over the mesh in slightly darker shades, while deep brown covers the “N” logos, laces, lining, and smaller details throughout the upper. Even with one color family doing most of the work, the mix of materials keeps the individual panels easy to see.

The sole continues the brown theme with a darker midsole sitting above the 2000L’s segmented cushioning setup. Metallic brown pods run from the forefoot through the heel, joined by visible ABZORB branding along the rear. Brown rubber covers the outsole and includes a light speckled finish.

The New Balance 2000L “Thunder Brown” releases during Fall/Winter 2026 on NewBalance.com and at select retailers. The retail price is set at $170.
