The New Balance 2000 “Black Cement” keeps the model’s layered running look intact, but the darker palette changes how those details come across. Black open-knit mesh covers most of the upper, with metallic gray panels wrapping the toe, eyestays, sides, and heel. Matte and glossy finishes sit next to each other, giving the shoe more depth without adding much extra color.
Podium Red is used in smaller amounts. Thin lines follow parts of the curved paneling, then show up again on the tongue and around the heel. Reflective silver trim outlines the oversized “N” logos and helps separate the upper’s different sections.
Most of the red is saved for the sole. Exposed ABZORB cushioning pods run from heel to toe inside a sculpted black midsole, while matching rubber sections appear along the outsole. Black laces, vertical “2000” tongue branding, heel logos, and New Balance/ABZORB insoles finish things off.
The New Balance 2000 “Black Cement” releases in Fall 2026 through NewBalance.com and select retailers for $170.
