Roughly two years have passed since The Apartment last worked with New Balance, and the Tokyo label is back with a colorful take on the 2010 GORE-TEX. The kingfisher supplies the palette this time, linking the design to a bird found in both Japan and New York.

Blue suede overlays sit over a teal base on the The Apartment x New Balance 2010 “Kingfisher,” with white sections mixed into the upper. The colors carry down to the sole, where an orange midfoot shank sits alongside dark navy ABZORB cushioning units.

GORE-TEX helps keep water out, so this version of the 2010 has some protection for wet days. The Apartment went with bright blue and teal here, keeping plenty of color on a shoe built for colder weather.
