Light taupe suede and dark brown panels give the New Balance 991v2 “Iron/Mulch” a different look from the model’s familiar grey pairs. Black open-grid mesh fills the spaces between them, extending across the toe box and tongue and around the collar.
Most of the lighter suede sits at the toe, midfoot, and heel. Chocolate brown follows the lower edge of the upper before reaching up to the top eyelets. There’s still some grey here, particularly on the forefoot overlays and the silver-grey “N” logos, which have thin black outlines.
Black laces cover part of the grey Made in England tongue patches, while the collar has a light grey lining. The usual embroidered “991” badges sit near the heels, with “v2” stitched into the back. Below that, a grey heel section meets a charcoal forefoot, and pale ABZORB SBS pods interrupt the darker sole. Dark rubber finishes the outsole.
