Jordan Brand is bringing back the Air Jordan 9 OG “Space Jam” this fall, with the original colorway scheduled to release on September 19, 2026. The drop arrives as part of the 30th anniversary celebration for Space Jam, giving another classic from the Michael Jordan era a reason to return.

The Air Jordan 11 may be the sneaker most people connect with the movie, but the Air Jordan 9 has its own history with Space Jam. Jordan briefly wore the shoe in the 1996 film, even though the colorway itself first released back in 1993. It was never really known as the “Space Jam” when it originally came out, with names like “True Red” and “White/Black” being more common over the years.

For 2026, the shoe stays close to the original look. White leather covers most of the upper, while black nubuck wraps the mudguard and collar. True Red hits show up on the Jumpman logos, tongue branding, heel “23,” and globe logo. Jordan Brand has also adjusted the shape to better match the 1993 pair, which should be one of the bigger details for collectors who care about how older retros are reproduced.

This isn’t the first time the colorway has returned. Following the original 1993 release, the Air Jordan 9 came back in 2002, landed in the 2008 Countdown Pack alongside the Air Jordan 14, released again in 2010, and returned in 2016 for the movie’s 20th anniversary. That 2016 release also helped push the “Space Jam” nickname into wider use.

The anniversary theme will carry over to the packaging, with the 2026 pair expected to arrive in a special Space Jam-themed box. Jordan Brand is also celebrating the movie with the Air Jordan 11 “Space Jam” returning in December, along with the special “Green Screen” Air Jordan 11.

Air Jordan 9 Space Jam 2026 Release Date

Look for the Air Jordan 9 OG “Space Jam” to release September 19, 2026 at select Jordan Brand retailers and Nike SNKRS. The shoe will be available in family sizing, with adult pairs priced at $215.
