Air Jordan 6 “Sport Blue” 2027

Jordan Brand is giving the Air Jordan 6 “Sport Blue” another shot in 2027, with the OG colorway expected back for Fall. It first hit shelves in 1991, then disappeared for years before finally returning in 2014.

Back in the Air Jordan 6’s debut year, “Sport Blue” was one of five original colorways. Unlike some of the other classics from that lineup, it barely saw the light of day after its first release. The 2014 retro kept the look close to the original, although Jordan Brand went with Jumpman branding on the heel instead of Nike Air.

That detail should be corrected on the 2027 pair. Nike Air is expected to return for the first time since the original 1991 release, and the overall shape should also sit closer to the early pairs.

The color blocking is simple, which is part of what has always made this one work. White leather takes over most of the upper, while Black shows up around the tongue, heel, and smaller sections. Sport Blue adds contrast on the branding, midsole, outsole, and lace locks. An icy translucent outsole finishes things off.

Tinker Hatfield designed the Air Jordan 6, which arrived in 1991 during Michael Jordan’s first championship season. The shoe also pulled inspiration from Jordan’s German sports car, something that helped give the model its sleek, sculpted shape.
