Tyrese Maxey’s New Balance Maxey V1 Releases October 2026

Published on

Tyrese Maxey first wore his New Balance signature shoe during the 2026 NBA Playoffs, and now the Maxey V1 is getting ready for its retail debut. An early look surfaced back in April, but New Balance has since shared a much clearer view of the shoe along with more details on how it’s built.

There are a few familiar New Balance ideas worked into the design, especially from the 9060. You can see that in the wavy paneling across the upper, the sculpted midsole, and the shape around the heel. The lacing setup also has a little 2002 influence, while the lower cut helps separate the Maxey V1 from the brand’s other basketball models.

For cushioning, the shoe uses FuelCell with a two-piece plate system instead of one full-length plate. The midfoot and arch are built to keep the foot contained, and a multidirectional outsole takes care of traction.

Maxey also wanted the shoe to still look like New Balance without having to lean too hard on the “N” logo. That shows up in the way some of the brand’s lifestyle design language carries over into the basketball build.

The New Balance Maxey V1 releases October 2, 2026, in a black and blue colorway for $130. More colorways are expected to follow during the 2026-27 NBA season.
