SLAM x adidas Celebrate 30 Years With Crazy 2 Pack

Published on

In honor of its 30th anniversary, SLAM magazine partners with adidas and Nick DePaula to unveil a special edition Crazy 2 sneaker. This unique release pays tribute to Kobe Bryant and SLAM’s iconic Class of ’96 cover, widely regarded as one of the magazine’s most legendary issues.

The adidas Crazy 2, formerly known as the Kobe Two, receives a striking update. This anniversary edition features a premium all-suede upper—the first time for this model. Symbolism runs deep in the design. The left shoe’s vibrant yellow reflects Kobe Bryant’s Lakers jersey, while the right boasts bold blue tones inspired by SLAM’s logo on its 15th issue. The insoles display a distinctive brick pattern, referencing the backdrop of the historic Class of 1996 cover that celebrated a legendary NBA rookie class.

Subtle details elevate the sneakers further. Two stars on the tongue symbolize SLAM’s enduring influence in basketball culture and its role in shaping the sport’s narrative. This collaboration is a seamless blend of Kobe’s legacy, adidas’ design innovation, and SLAM’s storytelling prowess.

Unfortunately, the SLAM x adidas Crazy 2 “30th Anniversary” Pack will not release to the public. Fans and collectors can only admire this remarkable tribute from afar.

This partnership not only highlights three decades of SLAM’s cultural impact but also celebrates one of basketball’s most beloved icons. It stands as a heartfelt homage to Kobe Bryant and an acknowledgment of basketball’s ever-evolving legacy. While unavailable for purchase, this project reminds fans of the sport’s rich history and its inspiring future.
