Dressed in University Blue, White, Sail, and Midnight Navy, the pair leans into that classic Tar Heels feel while giving the mid-top silhouette a sharper finish.

University Blue takes over the leather overlays, covering the mudguard, eyestay, collar, and heel with a bright pop that instantly drives the theme home. The upcoming Nike Air Max 95 “Carbon Fiber” leans heavily on texture through an almost all-black design. Retailer images show a layered mix of finishes across the upper, giving each panel its own look and helping the shoe feel more dimensional. The dark color blocking stays consistent throughout, while the varied materials add depth without relying on brighter colors or extra branding.

Carbon fiber-style accents run through the tongue strip, the heel spine, and the lower side panel, giving the design a slightly tougher edge. Louis Vuitton’s LV Tatic Runner Returns With Five New Colorway

The Louis Vuitton Tatic Runner comes with more history than most sneakers tied to a luxury house. It first showed up during Virgil Abloh’s Spring/Summer 2022 presentation in Miami, a show that hit differently because it arrived just after his passing. That moment turned the shoe into more than another runway debut. It became part of a larger memory in fashion, and now Pharrell Williams is bringing it back for Louis Vuitton’s Spring/Summer 2026 Men’s Pre-Collection.

Louis Vuitton didn’t mess with what worked about the original. The update arrives crafted with technical mesh and suede calf leather for a shoe that boasts breathability and structure with an overall elevated finish. The silhouette takes inspiration from late-’90s trail runners lending it that maximalist, slightly utilitarian look we can’t get enough of. Large LV Initials emblazon the side of the shoe but that isn’t all it has going for it. Attention grabbing paneling, contrasting textures and silhouette do most of the talking.

The bottom half gives the sneaker some real presence too. Its lugged outsole looks bulky at first glance, yet the shoe still comes off lighter than expected. Vuitton branding runs along the midsole in a way that feels noticeable without taking over the design. It is the kind of detail that blends into the shoe until you catch it up close.

Pairs arrive in five colorways this year. White is clean and simple, Black gets reflective accents, Blue combines navy and light grey, Anthracite introduces brighter green and aqua while Grey matches its upper with a gum sole.

The New Balance P400 “Afterglow” brings one of the boldest basketball looks New Balance has lined up this spring. Dressed in a striking neon yellow finish, the shoe leans fully into visibility and speed, giving the performance model a loud presence that feels right at home on the court. It is a sharp, modern design, but the color does most of the talking from the first glance.

A lightweight mesh upper keeps the build breathable, while black dotted detailing runs across the toe, forefoot, and side panels to create contrast throughout the bright base. Tonal overlays wrap the mudguard, eyestays, collar, and heel, helping the shoe keep a smooth, unified shape. The oversized “N” logo blends into the side panel instead of overpowering the design, which gives the P400 a cleaner finish than expected from such a vibrant colorway.

Balanced out by black laces and black tongue that slice through the neon upper, keeping everything tidy. White branding overlays the tongue for a pop of crispiness up top. This Is How The Trophy Room x Air Jordan 7 Almost Looked

Trophy Room’s Air Jordan 7 collaboration nearly took a very different path before the final “New Sheriff In Town” release. Newly surfaced sample versions show how much Jordan Brand and Trophy Room explored behind the scenes, including a far more experimental build that pushed the AJ7 into unexpected territory.

The most striking sample swaps the traditional shape for a lower-cut design with a bootie-style collar. Even with that major shift, the shoe still keeps a few familiar details from the retail pair, including the colorful pull tab and metallic accents near the heel. Silver overlays and bold red-and-gold hits on the midsole also bring it closer to the Barcelona-inspired energy tied to the original concept.

Another unreleased version seen in the background goes in a different direction. That pair appears to remove the suede overlay look used on the public release and rework the sole with navy and gold touches instead. The changes are less dramatic than the low-cut sample, but they still show how many visual routes were considered before the final design was locked in.

These Trophy Room x Air Jordan 7 Samples are not expected to release, but they add a new layer to one of Jordan Brand’s more story-driven collaborations. For collectors and longtime Air Jordan fans, early versions like these offer a rare look at the design process and show just how different the finished shoe could have been.

Air Jordan 5 “Phoenix Suns” Releases Spring 2027

The Air Jordan 5 “Phoenix Suns” is expected to join Jordan Brand’s Spring 2027 lineup in a Phoenix-inspired color scheme. The release also lines up with the 2027 NBA All-Star Game in Phoenix, giving the shoe a clear connection to the city at the right time.

This upcoming pair is expected to take cues from Shawn Marion’s Air Jordan 5 player exclusive from his Suns era. That PE was made in both white and black versions, but this retail pair is expected to follow the white-based look. While the overall design is said to stay close to Marion’s pair, small changes could still be made before release.

White leather is expected to cover the upper, while purple and orange accents bring in the Suns theme. Those colors are expected to appear on the midsole, branding, and other small details throughout the shoe. Silver reflective material on the tongue, classic side netting, and translucent outsole sections should keep the release in line with the traditional Air Jordan 5 build.

Branding will be one of the details to watch as more information surfaces. Early expectations point to “23” detailing and Jumpman branding, although Nike Air branding on the heel has not been ruled out. That part has not been confirmed, so it remains something to monitor as release details continue to develop.

JW Studios x Mizuno MXR “Kuro Gaki” Turns Traditional Dye Inspiration Into A 30-Pair Release

A lot of sneakers lean on color alone, but this pair actually has a story behind it. Inspired by the black persimmon, also known as “Kuro Gaki,” this latest take on the Mizuno MXR uses a deep purple Kakishibu-style treatment that gives the shoe a moodier, more distinctive look than your average mesh runner.

That purple finish washes over nearly everything. The mesh base, overlays, laces, lining, and midsole all fall in line, giving the shoe a saturated, almost studio-made feel from top to bottom. Even with one dominant shade doing most of the work, the MXR still keeps its shape and layered runner look intact. Small tan hits near the tongue and side panel help break things up, while the darker Mizuno logo adds just enough edge.

What really sets this release apart is how small it is. Only 30 pairs of the JW Studios x Mizuno MXR “Kuro Gaki” were made, and each one is individually marked “1/30” on the tongue. That numbered detail makes the project feel more personal, more deliberate, and a lot more collectible than a normal limited release.

MM6 Maison Margiela x Salomon Unveil New Summer 2026 Footwear

MM6 Maison Margiela is back with Salomon, and the partnership still knows how to make trail footwear feel fresh. Their next project keeps that outdoor foundation in place, but twists it through MM6’s offbeat fashion lens in a way that feels more styled than strictly technical.

The biggest talking point here is the new Cross Dust. The model shows up with a covered upper, and that shroud is stamped with MM6’s familiar number motif, giving the pair a look that feels a little stranger and a lot more distinctive than your average hiking-inspired sneaker. Based on this early preview, at least two color options are on the way.

Salomon is also reprising the XT-6, which makes plenty of sense when you consider just how well that model has performed for each brand individually. That model comes in three variations here, giving three takes on one of the collection fan favorites. It feels like Salomon and MM brought even more variety to the pack this time around, which helps the collection strike a nice balance of new and familiar.

Dates have not been revealed at this time, so for now this is merely a preliminary look at what MM6 Maison Margiela and Salomon have planned for Summer 2026. Sneaker Politics is back with Reebok for its first collaboration with the brand in nearly ten years, and the result gives the Workout Plus a darker, more textured identity. Dubbed the Sneaker Politics x Reebok Workout Plus “Wishing Ritual”, the pair leans into a stormy aesthetic with layered details that make the classic trainer feel fresh again.

First released in 1986, the Reebok Workout Plus was originally designed as a trainer. This collaboration shines more light on the silhouette by dressing it up in a grey leather base paired with multicolor etched graphics. The detailing adds dimension without overshadowing the model’s vintage design, appealing to both vintage Reebok fans and boutique-collab heads.

Sneaker Politics also appears to be teasing more than just color and texture. Early visuals hint at a possible waterproof upper that may shift in appearance once exposed to water, though that feature has not been officially confirmed. Even so, that detail adds extra intrigue to an already standout release.

UNDEFEATED, Converse, and Major League Baseball are teaming up on a Chuck 70 that digs into a real piece of baseball history. The “Brooklyn Dodgers” colorway looks back at the franchise before the move to Los Angeles and gives the shoe a story that feels more thoughtful than the usual team-inspired drop.

This duo takes inspiration from the Dodgers’ pre-1958 uniforms as the color black was once completely absent from their color scheme. The upper is decked out in black faux ostrich leather and the stitching and embroidery add extra definition and wear to the shoe. A large B logo patches the side, branding from Brooklyn hits the tongue and custom Converse x UNDEFEATED x Dodgers plates are added to the heel.

Baby blue branding on the inner tongue brings in that classic Dodgers look without making the whole design feel too on-the-nose. That is where the shoe gets it right. It clearly respects the past, but it still feels like something people would actually want to wear now instead of a pair built only around nostalgia.

Converse, UNDEFEATED, and MLB also gave the campaign a real New York connection by bringing in Kalil Justin, Ashley Alicea, and graffiti legend Futura. Rather than revisiting the familiar Charlotte angle again, the concept now looks deeper into the 1996 NBA Draft and imagines what Kobe Bryant’s sneaker legacy might have looked like with other franchises that passed on him.

Joe Freshgoods and New Balance are back with a 12th collaborative release, this time built around the New Balance 1890. After last year’s 2010 “In My Bag” project, Joe now shifts toward a newer retro-inspired model and gives it a concept rooted in the music video era of ’90s rap that shaped his childhood.

The Joe Freshgoods x New Balance 1890 pack pulls directly from the visual language of the late 1990s and early 2000s, especially the bold color, distortion, and larger-than-life styling made famous on MTV. Hype Williams’ futuristic direction plays a major role here, with Joe using that era’s unforgettable energy as the foundation for both pairs. The result is a project that feels tied to music, fashion, and memory all at once.

The two colorways, “Finger Waves” and “Naughty Things,” have not yet been officially tied to specific songs or videos. What has been made clear is that both pairs pull inspiration from the bold visuals and unmistakable attitude of rap videos, with references to artists like Busta Rhymes, Janet Jackson, Missy Elliott and Juvenile helping shape the overall direction of the project.
