Original Story 8/7/25:
Awake NY has announced a brand new Air Jordan 5 collaboration with Jordan Brand. The upcoming “Bubblegum” Pink and “Black/Racer Blue” colorways were first shown off during Paris Fashion Week and have been teased on social media. Awake combines their signature streetwear style with the classic 1990 Tinker Hatfield model for this project.

The “Bubblegum” version of the Air Jordan 5 is built on a bright pink leather upper with grey tongues and red accents as a callback to the OG “Fire Red” Air Jordan 5. The “Racer Blue” colorway will also feature black leather uppers but will incorporate Awake’s iconic blue accents as a nod to New York City’s affinity for darker color schemes. Both colorways of the Air Jordan 5 feature an embroidered Awake “A” logo within the side netting. This will be one of the more unique customizations seen on a Jordan Brand project to date.

Additional details include embroidered “23” on the lateral heel, and an “NY” logo at the back. Supply is limited: the “Bubblegum” version will only see a 7,000 pair release with each shoe individually numbered, while the “Racer Blue” model will be limited to 13,000 pairs.

Release Details & Where To Buy

According to Kicks Finder, an EQL online raffle will take place for both colorways on August 17, 2025. The “Bubblegum” will also be available in an in-store EQL raffle for pick up at Awake NY on August 18th.

Michael Jordan Shattered Backboard T-Shirts Now Available (August 2025)

UPDATE 8/16/25: The Jordan Shattered Backboard t-shirts are now available on Nike.com.

Original Story 5/6/25:
Once upon a backboard-smashing time—August 26, 1985 to be exact—Michael Jordan dunked so hard in Italy, the glass quit its job. The moment faded like your old gym socks until 2015, when Jordan Brand brought it roaring back with the “Shattered Backboard” Air Jordan 1.

Now in 2025, it’s the dunk’s 40th anniversary, Jordan Brand’s 40th birthday, and the AJ1’s 10th “Shatterversary”—a perfect storm of greatness. Naturally, Nike had to mark the occasion by giving us not one but two oversized Jordan Shattered Backboard T-Shirts. Choose between rebellious faded black or fresh-off-the-press off-white, depending on your mood (or laundry situation).

Each tee features MJ mid-air, mid-dunk, mid-glass explosion—complete with that number 23 jersey and chaotic shards flying like confetti at a GOAT parade. The back reads “1985 AIR JORDAN” in bold letters, just in case anyone forgot what year greatness began.

These tees drop in July 2025 on Nike.com, conveniently aligned with the rerelease of the beloved “Shattered Backboard” Air Jordan 1s. So yes, you can match your shirt to your shoes and your entire ego.

In closing: if you’ve ever wanted to wear a moment of basketball history on your chest—and look good doing it—this is it. The Jordan Shattered Backboard T-Shirt is coming for your closet. Don’t miss the drop, unless you enjoy regret.

Nike Astrograbber “Soft Yellow” Releases August 26th

UPDATE 8/16/25: The Nike Astrograbber “Soft Yellow” releases August 26th via SNKRS for $135 USD.

Original Story 8/1/25:
The Nike Astrograbber “Soft Yellow” arrives in Fall 2025 to help celebrate one of Nike’s most significant silhouettes. The football-specific shoe was the first to feature Bill Bowerman’s legendary waffle outsole.

The upper is finished in a muted colorway of Soft Yellow with a solid black Swoosh on both the lateral and medial sides of the shoe. Orange tongue tag provides a vintage-inspired touch and reminds the wearer of the Astrograbber’s 1970s heritage. The NIKE logo adorns the heel of the shoe. For a little variety, Nike throws in a second set of laces.

However, the real star of the show is the outsole. The iconic Bowerman waffle traction pattern is still going strong and is true to its roots in this updated silhouette. The outsole has the look and feel that was around during its original release while fitting right in with the modern sneaker culture.

Retailing at $135 USD, the Nike Astrograbber “Soft Yellow” will be available August 26, 2025 at Nike.com and through select retail partners.

Nike Astrograbber “Aluminum/Soft Yellow” Releases August 26th

UPDATE 8/16/25: The Nike Astrograbber “Aluminum/Soft Yellow” releases August 26th via SNKRS for $135 USD. Check out the official photos below.

Original Story 7/15/25:
Nike is bringing back a lesser-known piece of its archive. The Astrograbber, first released in 1974, wasn’t made for the streets—it was built for AstroTurf. Now, it’s returning in a clean “Aluminum/Soft Yellow” colorway with a more modern focus.

The upper is wrapped in muted aluminum suede. A pale yellow Swoosh sits along the side, pairing nicely with the yellow-and-white laces. Branding on the tongue and heel sticks to the original layout.

You’ll still spot that cleat-inspired sole underfoot. Once a functional feature, it’s now more about design than performance.

Timing here feels intentional. As interest in soccer-styled sneakers rises, and with the 2026 World Cup approaching, Nike is giving field-ready styles another shot. The Astrograbber fits right into that moment.

Earlier this year, the shoe made a limited return through a Bode collaboration. That drop sparked curiosity. This time, it’s available to a wider crowd.

The design keeps things understated. No loud graphics or trendy tweaks—just an honest revival of a silhouette most haven’t seen in years.

The Nike Astrograbber “Aluminum/Soft Yellow” lands on August 26, 2025, in men’s sizing for $135 USD. You’ll be able to grab a pair through Nike.com and select retailers.

Ice Studios Reimagines The Timberland 6-Inch Boot

Renell Medrano’s Ice Studios and Timberland have collaborated on a reboot of the classic 6-Inch Boot.

Slated to arrive in Fall 2025, the iteration forgoes the brand’s previous loud, multi-colored aesthetic for a muted monochromatic grey color scheme. Crafted in Timberland® leather uppers, the upper features a gray tone reminiscent of NYC streets.

The Timberland brand elements are debossed onto the side heel while the three-symbol logo of Ice Studios dangles from the tag. Silver-colored eyelets further sophisticate the rugged design and a semi-transparent milky white outsole keeps the build firmly within streetwear territory.

The Ice Studios x Timberland 6-Inch Boot “Grey” will drop in Fall 2025 through Timberland as well as selected retailers, online and in-store.

Nike Kobe 5 Protro EYBL “The Academy” 2025 PE Revealed

The Nike Kobe 5 Protro EYBL “The Academy” PE offers a new fresh colorway for the Kobe Bryant signature silhouette that was gifted to players of Nike Basketball’s Elite Youth Basketball League: The Academy.

This player edition features a vibrant mint green upper with black panels. It is accented by blue detailing around the Swoosh and along the heel. The color blocking is reminiscent of Jalen Brunson’s Kobe 6 Protro “Statue of Liberty” PE, set to receive a Holiday 2025 retail release.

The Kobe 5 Protro, originally launched as an updated take on the 2009 silhouette, offers the best of both worlds between a low top and lightweight performance. The Kobe 5 Protro EYBL “The Academy” PE follows in its performance DNA, bringing elevated basketball specific performance and nimble feel, and injects a daring color palette with a feeling of freshness and competitiveness. The mint tones and black accents are no doubt a show stopping combination that will pop under game lights.

Nike Basketball has a strong history of releasing athlete exclusive sneakers that are extremely desirable for sneakerheads at EYBL events. All previous Academy PEs have reached high resale prices for their scarcity and unique style, and this Kobe 5 EYBL PE is sure to join those ranks.

As of now, there are no reports of a retail release date, which is to be expected as these sneakers have been strictly exclusive to athletes at EYBL.

For fans of Kobe Bryant, this release is yet another release that keeps the Black Mamba’s influence alive both on and off the court.

Air Jordan 2 MLB Louisville Slugger PE Celebrates Baseball Heritage

Michael Jordan spent a brief but eventful period of his storied career playing professional baseball and this Air Jordan 2 MLB “Louisville Slugger” PE serves as a tribute to the national pastime.

It was initially shared on social media by @solesupreme who claimed the shoes are being made exclusively for MLB players who have signed with Jordan Brand. Dressed like a retro Air Jordan 2 on the surface, the sneaker truly comes alive on a closer inspection to give the player a sense of the Louisville Slugger® bat.

Air Jordan 2 PE with Factory Inspected and Weighed hang tag, inspired by Louisville Slugger baseball bats.
Air Jordan 2 MLB PE with “Factory Inspected and Weighed” hang tag, inspired by Louisville Slugger baseball bats.

Incorporating woodgrain overlays to the upper, this special edition brings all the texture and pattern of the world-famous Louisville Slugger bat to the footwear. Soft yellow hue continues on the collar, forefoot and heel for that retro sporting vibe, while the toe and tongue are covered in black nubuck. A black midsole adds a splash of contrast and the bold red accents are an obvious nod to Hillerich & Bradsby Co., the company that originally manufactured the Louisville Slugger bats and proudly showcased on the custom “His Heirness & Co.” leather tongue patch.

Etched into the lateral ankle is a woven red label that spells out “Louisville, KY” in honor of the city where it all started and embroidered on the heel spine is the year “1894” to celebrate when the Louisville Slugger bat became a registered trademark. Each of these heritage details and nods combine the classic basketball sneaker with storied baseball history, a move that the Jordan Brand has done with other exclusive PE sneaker releases in the past.

It is important to note that the Air Jordan 2 MLB “Louisville Slugger” PE won’t be hitting the retail shelves but is limited to Jordan Brand sponsored athletes in the MLB only.

The Air Jordan 1 Low Resurfaces in “Elephant Print” For Fall/Winter 2025

Jordan Brand is pairing retro details with modern elements for the Air Jordan 1 Low “Elephant Print”, arriving in Fall/Winter 2025.

Pulling inspiration from the iconic Air Jordan 3, the upcoming shoe features a textured grey elephant print panel layered under smooth black leather. Bright yellow accents are present on the tongue logo, insole, heel Wings logo and a small embroidered Swoosh below the toe. A unique triangular Jumpman patch with “A!R” written across it gives the classic silhouette a fresh update.

The black and grey color combination keeps the shoe feeling versatile, while the bright yellow accents give the shoe a subdued dose of energy. For long-time Jordan Brand collectors, the elephant print pattern is a throwback to Tinker Hatfield’s signature AJ3 design from 1988.

The Air Jordan 1 Low “Elephant Print” will launch on October 20, 2025 at select Jordan Brand retail locations and Nike.com.

Fragment Design x Nike Book 1 “Red Snakeskin” PE Limited To 2 Pairs

The Fragment Design x Nike Book 1 Red Snakeskin PE might be the rarest Booker sneaker to surface yet. Created exclusively for Devin Booker and Hiroshi Fujiwara, this player-exclusive pairs white leather with bold red snakeskin at the heel. Perforated Swooshes and an “1 of 2” text printed inside Hiroshi’s pair elevates its ultra-rare status.

Fragment’s relationship with Book 1 dates all the way back to the “Blue Snakeskin” version that Booker debuted in December 2024. This red update trades in the cool tones for high contrast in a familiar silhouette that takes the minimalist and premium details of the OG and flips it on its head.

No word on a retail release, but this collaboration is a sign of Nike Basketball potentially opening more storytelling doors with Booker and the PE world. The Nike Book 2 is slated for Spring 2026, so we could see another Fragment collaboration in the future.

For now, the Fragment Design x Nike Book 1 “Red Snakeskin” PE stays firmly out of public reach, existing only in the hands of its two intended recipients.

Due to it’s ultra rarity and the cult status of Fragment it will undoubtedly become a grail for collectors following the history of Book 1.
