LeBron James fourth signature shoe, the Nike Zoom LeBron 4, made its debut back in November 2006 with a retail price tag of $125 USD. It was the first use of Foamposite material in a basketball sneaker since 2003.

Two player edition colorways were the “SVSM Away” as a nod to LBJ’s former high school team St. Vincent St. Mary, and the other was the “Fairfax Away” designed for the Lions of Fairfax High School in Los Angeles for their road games. Both pairs weren’t available for retail, and were only made for their respective high schools.

Sneaker Talk: Air Jordan 5 LS “Black/University Blue”

The now-classic Air Jordan 5 in its Black/University Blue colorway was released only once back in August 2006 for $145 USD.

This release featured a Black nubuck upper with University Blue accents throughout, including on its contrast stitching. Its Blue tone was also used on the classic translucent outsole.

Jordan Brand kicked off their “Cap and Gown” series with the Air Jordan 11 back in May 2018. Part of their Summer 2019 lineup, they’ll be adding to it with the Air Jordan 13.

Much like the Air Jordan 11, this Air Jordan 13 will come dressed in an all-Black color scheme. Very similar to the “Black Cat” Air Jordan 13 from 2017, this release replaces the mesh panels for patent leather will the remainder of the shoe receives suede treatment.

MADNESS Releasing Two New Balance 990 Colorways

Hong Kong streetwear label MADNESS, founded by Shawn Yue, has teamed up with New Balance to release two renditions of the New Balance 990.

One pair comes in New Balance’s classic Grey tone, while the other is done in Military Green. Both are highlighted with fluorescent material of the toe cap and special pack of laces with the label’s slogan “all work and no play makes you made” printing.

Designed by the Nike special projects team, led by senior design director Nate Jobe, the futuristic React Element 87 will soon be releasing a few new color options for the spring/summer season.

This iteration of the shoe features its signature translucent shell and semi-translucent Green shade on the inner sides highlighted with 3M reflective Orange trail-running style laces and Yellow Swoosh logos. Brown hues also appear throughout the shoe atop a White React foam sole to complete the design.

The newest Nike React running shoe, the Epic Phantom React Flyknit, debuts with a minimal look and dynamic fit made possible by losing the laces.

It features elastic Flyknit yarns by the tongue and along the collar to create a snug fit that moves seamlessly with the foot. Non-elastic yarns, which replace traditional lace hooks, offer structure and stability. Nike’s signature React cushioned sole unit completes the design.

Jordan Brand will be bringing back the classic Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG “Black/White” colorway from 1985, but this 2019 release will come with a bit of a twist.

Nearly an identical color scheme as the original release, but instead of having White laces this one opts for Black. Another added detail includes a textured fur-style material on its overlays and Swoosh logo, while having a raised badge-style Wings logo on the collar.
