UPDATE: Nike confirms that the “Draft Day” Kobe 4 Protro will release on February 15th as a nod to when Kobe Bryant was drafted by the Charlotte Hornets with the No. 13 pick in the 1996 NBA Draft. That same day, Black Mamba was traded to the Los Angeles Lakers, which this memorable moment was celebrated in 2009 with the launch of the “Draft Day” Zoom Kobe 4 (IV). 10 years later, the classic colorway returns to celebrate 2019 NBA All-Star Weekend back in Charlotte.

The colorway is fitting to where the game is being played in Charlotte, as the Hornets were the original team to draft Kobe before trading him to the Los Angeles Lakers.
