Devin Booker made the official debut of the next evolution of his signature line with the introduction of the Nike Book 2 “Black Tie” PE. The look was made in tandem with the retail drop of the Book 2, providing a more subdued, understated statement on-court.
This Player Exclusive takes a formal approach. A fully black upper anchors the design, built with layered mesh and a matching mudguard that subtly reveals the lace structure. Thin white striping breaks through the darkness, delivering contrast that feels intentional rather than decorative.
Those white accents extend to the midsole and outsole, tightening the shoe’s visual balance. The only color interruption lands on the tongue, where the Book logo appears in Phoenix-inspired orange. It’s a small detail, yet it grounds the look in Booker’s identity.
So far, Book 2 Player Exclusives have leaned quieter than the Book 1 run. Interestingly, early retail colorways show more personality than the PEs. That contrast suggests a slow-burn strategy as the season unfolds.
The Nike Book 2 “Black Tie” PE is not expected to release publicly. Still, its debut signals momentum, with the Book 2 era now underway and additional colorways expected throughout the year.
