Nike’s Air Max 90 gets quieter with “Black Croc Leather” colorway.

Instead of bright contrasting colors or nostalgic hues, Nike’s Air Max 90 “Black Croc Leather” flies under the radar. The color palette stays muted across black, anthracite, and metallic dark grey. However, where this sneaker truly changes up from your standard Air Max freshness is in its materials.

Leather embossed to look like crocodile skin adorns the toe box, mudguard, sides, and heel for an elevated take on the usually mesh-and-suede composition we typically see. Ribbed leather is used on the eyestays and heel tab to break up the upper, while metallic dark grey appears on the Swoosh, tongue label, heel branding, and trim to provide subtle contrast.

The sole of the sneaker also takes a subtle approach. Black laces, dark collar, anthracite Air Max branding, and black rubber outsole pair nicely with the monochromatic theme. Nike even tones down the visibility of the Air unit, which blends in with the darker tones rather than sticking out from them.

Expected to release June 29, 2026, the Nike Air Max 90 “Black Croc Leather” will be available at Nike.com and select retailers for $145.
