New Balance continues to expand its lifestyle catalog with the 950, an entirely new silhouette rooted in the brand’s basketball history.
Rather than bringing back another archival model, New Balance designed the 950 as a cleaner, slimmer alternative to retro court shoes like the 550. The sneaker first appeared in April when Cooper Flagg wore an all-white pair during a tunnel walk, offering an early preview of the brand’s next lifestyle release.
This upcoming colorway carries a warm, understated finish. Cream leather covers most of the upper, while oatmeal suede appears across the toe, heel, and signature “N” branding. Light grey piping outlines the layered construction without disrupting the tonal look.
A vintage-cream midsole completes the design, giving the shoe a slightly aged appearance straight from the box. Its low-profile shape also reflects the industry’s gradual move away from the oversized sneakers that dominated earlier in the decade.
Design elements borrowed from older New Balance basketball shoes remain visible throughout. Wavy overlays recall the 550 and 650, while the tongue branding reinforces the sneaker’s court-inspired identity.
The New Balance 950 is expected to release July 1st for $120. Check out the detailed images below as the launch approaches.
