Jalen Brunson has two more Nike Kobe sneakers coming out. The Knicks guard recently talked about both pairs on his “Roommates Show” podcast, confirming they are heading to retail. He has worn plenty of player-exclusive Kobe models in New York, but these upcoming pairs include an orange and blue Kobe 3 Low for Knicks fans and a personal Kobe 5 dedicated to his father, Rick Brunson, who played for several NBA teams before becoming a coach.
The Nike Kobe 3 Low Protro “Arancia” is up first, and Brunson confirmed we can expect it this December. Bright orange dominates the upper, accented by blue Nike Swooshes to match the iconic Madison Square Garden home threads. This isn’t his first nod to the Big Apple either—he previously dropped a New York-inspired Kobe 6 Protro “Statue of Liberty”—so the “Arancia” keeps that hometown momentum rolling.
The story behind the Kobe 5 Protro “What The Rick” hits a lot closer to home for the Brunson family. Rick Brunson spent his playing days constantly moving from team to team, meaning Jalen spent his childhood frequently packing up and adapting to new cities. Jalen has opened up about those hectic years on the podcast, noting that his dad’s journey was far tougher than anything he faces in the league today. The mismatched “What The” theme serves as a direct thank you to his father for grinding through those years.
Brunson confirmed that the Nike Kobe 3 Low Protro “Arancia” will release in December 2026, followed by the Kobe 5 Protro “What The Rick” sometime during Spring/Summer 2027.
