Reebok and Happy99 unveil their inaugural collaboration, the Happy99 x Reebok Instapump Fury. This collaboration brings forth two distinctive anime-gaming inspired renditions of the revered Reebok Pump runner from ‘95.

Back in 2018, designers Nathalie Nguyen and Dominic Lopez shared a virtual sneaker concept on Instagram under the “Happy99” brand. The response was overwhelming, with stylists expressing interest in acquiring these virtual kicks for their high-profile clients. Fast forward a year, and what began as a digital “passion project” for two remote artists is now a reality in the world of footwear and fashion.

Happy99 Co-Founder Dominic Lopez shares, “Starting ‘H99’ on Instagram to showcase our 3D shoe ideas, making our first shoe feels like a full circle.”

The Happy99 x Reebok Instapump Fury debuts in two vibrant color schemes, Purple/Midnight-Earth and Boulder Grey/Mint. Drawing inspiration from ‘90s video games and anime, the sneakers boast a blend of fabrics, vivid colors, and earth tones. Notable features include a translucent Pump button, Cordura/suede/synthetic mixed material upper, graphic nylon and ripstop gaiter, custom graphic sockliner, OG Fury carbon footplate, and brand nods.

Lopez adds, “We adore the iconic Fury silhouette, from its cult classic moments to anime collabs. The juxtaposition of sharpness and the Pump bladder’s bubbly facade is cool.”

Happy99 Co-Founder Nathalie Nguyen shares their affinity for doll culture, mentioning their decision to 3D print a life-sized doll for a unique photoshoot in Chinatown, NYC.
