Back in 2020, Hiroshi Fujiwara’s Fragment Design released a sleek “White/Black” edition of the Air Jordan 3, which garnered widespread acclaim for its minimalist aesthetic. Recently, thanks to GOAT, we’ve been treated to a glimpse of a never-before-seen “Black/White” sample of the same collaboration.
This unreleased pair flips the original retail colorway, featuring a Black tumbled leather base accented with clean White mudguards. Staying true to Fragment’s signature branding, the double lightning bolt logo is stamped on the lateral heel. However, this sample differs from the retail release in one notable way—the heel tab. Instead of featuring the lightning bolts, it opts for solo “Nike Air” branding, adding a more traditional Jordan Brand touch.
While this Fragment Design x Air Jordan 3 “Black/White” Sample won’t be available for public purchase, it made a recent appearance as an exclusive auction item on the GOAT app. For collectors and fans of Fragment’s understated style, this pair stands as a coveted piece of sneaker history. Keep an eye out for more surprises from Hiroshi Fujiwara and Jordan Brand.
