The Air Jordan 9 OG “Space Jam” is returning in 2026, giving Jordan Brand a second major release tied to the film’s 30th anniversary.

Michael Jordan wore the “White/Black-True Red” Air Jordan 9 during Space Jam, even though the Air Jordan 11 “Space Jam” ended up becoming the movie’s most famous sneaker. Still, the AJ9 has always had its place in that story. Originally released in 1993, the colorway came long before the nickname, but its connection to the film has only grown over time.

The pair keeps its classic setup with a white leather upper, black nubuck around the mudguard and collar, and True Red accents on the Jumpman, tongue, heel “23,” and globe branding. Jordan Brand is also expected to update the shape so it looks closer to the original 1993 version, which should make this release more appealing to longtime collectors.

This colorway has returned several times over the years. After its original release, it came back in 2002, appeared in the 2008 Countdown Pack with the Air Jordan 14, released again in 2010, and returned in 2016 during the 20th anniversary of Space Jam. That 2016 drop helped turn the nickname into something most sneaker fans recognize today.

According to zSneakerHeadz, the 2026 release will also include special Space Jam-themed packaging made for the film’s milestone anniversary.
