Air Jordan 6 ‘Slam Dunk’ Detailed Look
Well we managed to get our sneaker hungry hands on a pair of the Air Jordan 6 ‘Slam Dunk’ from our friends over at Sneaker Politics, so we decided to take some beauty shots for you. Enjoy the gallery below and stay tuned to our Youtube Channel for a video review we will be posting tonight.
The “Slam Dunk” pack pays tribute to artist Takehiko Inoue’s 31 volumed sports themed Japanese manga series named “Slam Dunk” created during the 1990s. If you don’t already know, Manga is a style of Japanese comic books and graphic novels. “Slam Dunk” is about a basketball team from ShAhoku High School and they wear Bulls-style uniforms and Air Jordans. The main character, Hanamichi Sakuragi, rocks the Air Jordan 6. Hence the reason for picking this shoe to pay to tribute to the comic.
The Devil Is In The Details
Starting again with the upper it is done entirely in red with tonal 3M images of skethes from the Slam Dunk manga all over the upper. Stitched on the outside heel is a red number 10 outlined in white. That’s the number worn by Slam Dunks main character, Hanamichi Sakuragi. And for those who somehow don’t know this already there’s an abstract 23 designed onto both sides of the upper.
The tongue is mostly red with what looks more like a cream color or an off white lace shroud with the red jumpman logo. You have a clear plastic lace lock with a red jumpman and the top of your tongue is clear or translucent. It has the iconic finger holes to make it easier to put on the shoe. The words “Jordan-Air” are molded onto the tongue. Your inside sock liner is red while the inside of the tongue is cream or off white.
The spoiler on the back heel of your upper is clear with a red stripe going across it. Below that the jumpman logo as well as the word “Air” beneath that are both done in the red colorway. The midsole is red with a strip of sparkling white going along both the outer and inner foot of the shoe. Extending from your midsole the outsole is entirely clear or icy with a jumpman logo going diagionally on the outer midfoot of the outsole.
