A Nike SB x Air Jordan 4 sample that hadn’t been seen before recently showed up on X. The shoe was reportedly made in memory of Sandy Bodecker, the former Nike executive who helped launch Nike SB. Its colors come from a 2004 SB Dunk that was said to be one of his personal favorites.
The sample takes its colors from the Nike SB Dunk High “Sea Crystal,” which originally released in 2004 during the silver-box era. According to unheardof, the Dunk was a personal favorite of Bodecker’s. Two shades of light aqua suede cover the Air Jordan 4’s upper, while black rubber outsoles match the look of the original Dunk.

Bodecker helped get Nike’s skateboarding division off the ground, playing a big part in its early success. His work helped establish Nike SB long before its Dunks became some of the most sought-after sneakers on the resale market. Since his passing in 2018, several projects have paid tribute to his contributions, with this Air Jordan 4 sample now joining that history.
There are no plans to release this Nike SB x Air Jordan 4 “Sea Crystal” Sample, and its emergence serves as another reminder of the countless unreleased concepts and promo samples that exist behind the scenes at Nike.
