The Air Jordan 1 was designed by Peter Moore and was released during Michael Jordan’s sophomore season with the Chicago Bulls. The shoe went on to sell a whopping $162 million in the first year of its existence with Michael Jordan earning a reported 5% on all Jordan Brand sales in his licensing deal with Nike.
One of the original releases from 1985 was the Air Jordan 1 “Black Toe” colorway that grew in popularity after being featured in several Nike promotional campaigns (including the photo that inspired the Jordan logo itself). Last seen in 2016, the shoe returned with its original form.
The Air Jordan 1 “Yellow Toe” also known as “Taxi” released during September 2022. It comes in a color blocking that was first used on 2018’s “Bred Toe” release and also influenced by the original “Black Toe” colorway.
