A different version of the Teyana Taylor x Air Jordan 3 showed up over the weekend at the Dyckman Basketball League in New York City. Jordan Brand had the unreleased sample on display next to Taylor’s retail “Concrete Rose” pair and her earlier Air Jordan 1 Zoom CMFT 2 collaboration.
This version looks very different from the pair that made it to stores. Instead of leaning on green and grey, the sample goes with a much stronger red and grey setup.
Most of the upper is covered in red, putting the rose idea right at the center of the design. Grey details and a speckled midsole bring in more of the concrete side of the theme. The speckling is also a little more toned down than what we saw on the final release.
One of the biggest changes is around the upper. The sample does not use the vine-like shroud that became one of the main details on the retail pair, giving this version a cleaner and more traditional Air Jordan 3 look.
There is no word on how far this sample made it before Jordan Brand moved in another direction. For now, it remains an unreleased look at what the Teyana Taylor x Air Jordan 3 “Concrete Rose” could have been.
