Sneaker Talk: Air Jordan 6 “Toro Bravo”

Published on

Before the Air Jordan 6 got the “Toro Bravo” treatment, the red suede theme had already been used on a couple of fan-favorite Jordans. The Air Jordan 5 kicked things off in 2009 as part of the “Raging Bull” Pack, and the Air Jordan 4 followed in 2013. The Air Jordan 6 joined the lineup ten years later.

Released in 2023, the Air Jordan 6 “Toro Bravo” borrowed heavily from that 2009 Air Jordan 5. Red suede covered nearly the entire upper, with black used throughout to break things up.

Those darker hits landed on the tongue, lining, heel tab, and midsole. The upper kept the usual Air Jordan 6 perforations, while the inner sleeve helped give the shoe its snug fit. Visible Air cushioning sat in the heel, with a translucent rubber outsole finishing things off below.

There is also plenty of history tied to the Air Jordan 6 itself. Michael Jordan wore the model during the 1990-91 season, when he won the first NBA championship of his career with the Chicago Bulls.

The Air Jordan 6 “Toro Bravo” released in 2023 and gave the model a look Jordan fans had already known for years. Pairs are still available on the resale market for anyone looking to track down a pair.
