Made in partnership with Aces, the “Legacy” Air Max Penny 1 celebrates Penny Hardaway’s impact on basketball and hoop culture over the past three decades.
Following his 14-year pro career with the Orlando Magic (1993-99), Phoenix Suns (1999-2004), New York Knicks (2004-06) and Miami Heat (2007), Hardaway became the coach at the University of Memphis, his alma mater, in 2018-19. In four seasons, his record is 84-43. The program has four consecutive 20-win seasons and an appearance in the 2022 NCAA Tournament, where they advanced to the second round before losing to Gonzaga. Memphis finished 22-11 last season.
This offering of the Nike Air Max Penny 1 is a 1-of-1 design with Aces arriving in a Neutral color blocking constructed with buttery, tumbled leather, hairy suede along with the model’s signature jewel Swooshes. the latter is detailed with repeating monochrome “Hustle & Heart” graphic, while “GOD GOT ME” in the dollar bill font is placed on the tongues along with the ACES’ logo. Other details includes “LEGACY” and “ACES” printed on the heels with a graphic print coating the heel’s cushioning unit.
Hardaway will debut the 1-of-1 Aces x Nike Air Max Penny 1 “Legacy” while coaching for Memphis’ final regular season game against Houston today at 12PM EST. Afterward, the game-worn pair will be auctioned off with proceeds supporting Penny’s One Cent Foundation.
