UPDATE 8/11/26: Aaliyah Chavez wore her mismatched Nike Kobe 6 Protro “Mexico” PE again during preseason warm-ups for Oklahoma’s 2026-27 season. She had already shown the pair in cleaner studio-style photos, but the latest look gives us another chance to see them on court. For now, the Kobe 6 is still expected to stay exclusive to Chavez.

Aaliyah Chavez has been getting plenty of attention during March Madness as Oklahoma continues its run into the Sweet 16. Her play has put her on a bigger national stage, and the Kobe line has been part of that story too.

One of the pairs she has been wearing is the Nike Kobe 6 Protro “Mexico” PE. The colorway is tied to her Mexican-American background, with red, white, and green spread across the shoe. The upper uses a gradient finish, while the collar, heel, and midsole move between the different colors. A gum outsole finishes off the design.

The shoe also has a personal connection beyond basketball. Chavez’s heritage lines up with Vanessa Bryant’s Mexican background, giving the pair a meaning that goes past just the colors.

Chavez has already been seen in several Kobe models, and this “Mexico” PE adds another one to the list. With her profile continuing to grow, it would not be surprising to see more exclusive Kobe pairs made for her down the road.

The Aaliyah Chavez x Nike Kobe 6 Protro “Mexico” PE is currently expected to remain exclusive to Chavez and is not scheduled for a public release.
