The Kobe AD is making its way back into the lineup, with the original “Purple Stardust” colorway returning in Protro form for Holiday 2026. First released in 2016, the Kobe AD was the first signature model to arrive after Kobe Bryant retired from the NBA.

This new version keeps the familiar shape while making a few changes to how the shoe fits and performs. The overall build sits slightly lower than the original, and the forefoot has been widened. Aaliyah Chavez has already been spotted wearing the updated model on court.

Performance updates include ZoomX foam in the forefoot and React cushioning through the midsole. Nike also reduced some weight in the upper, improved the traction setup, and added a midfoot shank plate for extra support and stability.

The “Purple Stardust” colorway returns with the same purple-heavy look tied to the original release, finished with black branding and matching dark details. The $155 retail price also puts the model below several other Kobe releases currently in the lineup.
