The Mercurial Vapor 1 will return as a lifestyle shoe rather than a direct retro. Nike has updated the early-2000s silhouette with the Cryoshot mold while maintaining the metallic silver and Volt colorway associated with Ronaldo Nazário. The look has been worn by Vinícius Júnior recently as well.

Metallic silver dominates the upper, with accents of Volt interrupting lines raised above the surface of the side panels and across a glossy black Swoosh. Details like the collar, heel, and sockliner are also Volt. The silhouette remains low and similar to the original boot, helping the shoe to look modern while still feeling familiar.

Visually, the redesign is most apparent on the sole. The studded plate has been swapped out for translucent Cryoshot tooling. You can see elements of the internal construction thanks to the transparent coating. There is Volt traction pods and print details on the underside. Mercurial branding is placed on the insoles as well. R9 logo embroidered onto the heel tab allows Nike to keep ties with football.

The Nike Cryoshot Mercurial Vapor 1 OG “Chrome” will launch Fall 2026 via Nike and select retailers for $200.
