Devin Booker’s second signature shoe is getting a “Moon Landing” colorway, and anyone familiar with the old Air Max 90 release will probably recognize the design. Nike has covered the Book 2 in graphics that look like the actual surface of the moon, with craters and rocky patches spread across the shoe. The resemblance to the Air Max 90 is hard to ignore, though Nike hasn’t said the two are officially connected.
The graphics don’t end at the upper. They carry over to the midsole, with lighter grey on the Swoosh and tongue to break things up. Up close, you can see the different shades used to show the craters and rougher parts of the moon’s surface.
There’s also some red and blue on the heel tab, similar to the striping found on NASA spacesuits. Nike kept the laces and tongue stabilizer grey, while the bottom of the shoe gets an icy blue outsole instead of more moon graphics.
