A fold-over tongue covered in pearls, stars, and silver hardware isn’t something you normally see on an Air Force 1, but that’s exactly where Nike is going with this new pair. The “Anthracite/Silver” colorway takes the familiar low-top and loads most of the detail into one part of the shoe rather than changing everything around it.

Dark Anthracite tumbled leather makes up most of the upper, running from the toe through the side panels and heel. A Metallic Silver Swoosh stands out against the darker leather, while Nike Air branding is pressed into the heel for a cleaner finish.

The extended tongue folds over the laces in a style usually associated with soccer shoes. That’s also where the charms come in, with pearls, metal stars, buckles, and other silver pieces attached across the tongue. Jewelry and pearl details have been showing up more often on sneakers lately, and here they’re worked into an Air Force 1 without covering the entire shoe in them.

Anthracite continues onto the midsole and outsole, leaving the silver Swoosh and decorated tongue as the main contrast.
