Westside Gunn is taking his Saucony partnership into louder territory with the upcoming Westside Gunn x Saucony ProGrid Omni 9 Web “Spider-Man”. First spotted during Paris Fashion Week, the sneaker reworks Saucony’s early-2000s runner with a web-covered upper and a color story that immediately points to the Marvel superhero.
The red pair makes the reference clear. Bright red mesh covers the base, while black molded TPU overlays stretch across the shoe like webbing. Silver detailing hits the toe, white Saucony logos cut through the side panels, and blue accents on the rear midsole help complete the Spider-Man-style palette. Gunn also wore the shoes with red Supreme x Vanson Leathers web shorts, so the theme was not exactly subtle.
A second colorway has since surfaced, giving the project more weight than a single-show sample. This version flips the energy with a royal blue mesh base, red web overlays, and a matching blue midsole. It keeps the same white Saucony branding, silver toe panels, and black lower accents, but the brighter setup gives it more of a comic-book feel compared to the darker red pair.
Both pairs are built on the Saucony ProGrid Omni 9 Web, a modified take on the standard ProGrid Omni 9. The biggest change is the web-like TPU cage across the upper, which adds structure while pushing the shoe away from its usual technical runner look. It feels more animated, more graphic, and honestly more in line with Westside Gunn’s world.
The Griselda scorpion logo appears near the lateral heel, tying the release back to Gunn’s larger Flygod universe. His Saucony projects have not just been color swaps. Between music, wrestling, fashion, streetwear, and art references, Gunn has built a visual language that makes his sneaker collaborations feel like part of a bigger story.
This ProGrid Omni 9 Web follows the Westside Gunn x Saucony ProGrid Triumph 4 “Super Flygod” and the previewed Grid Jazz 9 “Awesome Gods”. It also shows Saucony getting more aggressive with its archive runners, especially as brands continue bringing back performance silhouettes from the 2000s with new textures, overlays, and storytelling.
As of now, release details for the Westside Gunn x Saucony ProGrid Omni 9 Web “Spider-Man” have not been announced. The collaboration is currently expected sometime during Spring/Summer 2027, stay tuned for more updates.
