Virgil Abloh is adding another gig to his list, as Louis Vuitton has announced he will be the brands next menswear designer. Which makes him the first African-American artistic director.

According to The New York Times, Abloh will be moving his family to Paris to be closer to the brand. Louis Vuitton hired Kim Jones, its last menswear designer, back in 2011, who also released his over Nike collabs in recent years.

“The first thing I am going to do is define new codes. My muse has always been what people actually wear, and I am really excited to make a luxury version of that,” Abloh said.

No word on if he’ll be making sneakers, but one thing he did say was that his Off-White brand will still continue.

“Off-White is for the 17-year-old version of myself, whereas Vuitton is for the 37-year-old I am today,” Abloh said.
