VegNonVeg is bringing a piece of Indian footwear history to the adidas Samba, reworking the familiar sneaker as a slip-on inspired by the traditional Jutti. The New Delhi retailer pulled from the centuries-old style for its Samba Mule, mixing those details into a model that adidas has already been experimenting with in several different forms.

Black covers most of the upper, while white Three Stripes and a matching midsole keep the colorway simple. The bigger changes are found around the toe, where detailed patterns give the shoe a look that separates it from a standard Samba. A connected lace cover runs across the top, and gold VegNonVeg branding sits just above the Three Stripes. Red and green insoles add some color inside each shoe.

The Jutti influence makes sense for the Mule shape since the traditional footwear was also made to slip on and off without much effort. VegNonVeg kept that idea intact here while working in enough Samba details that the original model is still easy to recognize.

This also adds another version to the growing list of Samba offshoots adidas has introduced in recent years. The shoe has moved well beyond the standard low-top, with climbing, bowling, Mary Jane and mule versions all joining the lineup.

The VegNonVeg x adidas Samba Mule released in India earlier this month through VegNonVeg and is now beginning to arrive at retailers in other markets. Pricing is around $160 depending on the region.
