Ty Mopkins: I am the marketing director and lifestyle (footwear and apparel) buyer at Puffer Reds. I have been featured in Complex magazine and Footwear News just to name a few.

In 2013 I was named Reebok brand ambassador of the year for the growth of Reebok in the Detroit area.

In December of 2013 I locked the deal down with adidas to have Puffer Reds be the only store in the country to launch the Big Sean sneaker “The Detroit Player”

In January of 2014 I was very influential with adidas and became a “Brand Ambassador” of a national campaign with adidas of bringing back a Detroit classic sneaker – the Adidas Top Ten… a campaign which featured World renowned DJ – D.J. Clark Kent, Detroit’s own Danny Brown. The campaign lead to a invite only industry style tastemaker event at the World Famous American Coney Island in Downtown Detroit.

Plus I have been involved with some hands on work with New Era Caps collaborating with them on exclusive hats.

SBD: Tell our readers what you will be doing for Sneaker Bar Detroit.

Ty Mopkins: My job will be to get you the ins and outs of the sneaker world. You will be talking to designers, the people in marketing and other buyers from some of the top sneaker stores around the world. If it has to have something to do with sneakers and the lifestyle around it – SBD will be on it.

SBD: Why did you want to join Sneaker Bar Detroit?

Ty Mopkins: I felt it was a perfect match. I have been following SBD for awhile and they always showed me love on any and everything I was doing. One day this opportunity came where we both knew it made perfect sense for both parties involved to join forces and take this to a whole new level.
