During the Space Cam going down in New York City, Nike and New York-based artist Tom Sachs will be releasing the Tom Sachs Nike Mars Yard 2.0 next week for $200 USD.
According to The New York Times, Tom Sachs collaborated with Nike about five years ago to design a shoe for Tommaso Rivellini, a mechanical engineer at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, Calif., using the same material Rivellini used to invent airbags for Mars rovers.
Returning in a similar style as the original, the Tom Sachs x NikeCraft Mars Yard 2.0 will officially become available on June 8th during the Space Camp festivities and on NikeCraft.com.
Registrations is currently available for June 8-11 and June 15-18 for those that are in the NYC area. Register now on Nike.
