The Tipping Point x adidas Adistar Control 5 Drops November 7th

Published on

After starting in Portland with Deadstock Coffee, adidas’ “Slow Drip” series heads to Houston for a release with The Tipping Point on November 7. The shop’s Adistar Control 5 takes its pink and green from Texas cactus flowers, with green suede layered over a pink base. It’s the latest collaboration in the series connecting local coffee shops and sneaker culture.

The pink underlays take up much of the upper, with green suede overlays tracing the shoe’s layered construction. That suede has a coarse finish, adding texture alongside the roughened laces. Green continues down to the sole, while the pink remains concentrated above- a direct nod to cactus stems and blooms without adding much else to the palette.

Campaign photos were shot in the Texas desert, tying the backdrop to the plant life behind the design. The local reference gives The Tipping Point a different direction from Portland’s Deadstock Coffee, which opened the series with a red-and-gold Adistar Control 5. Coffee shops remain the common thread, with each collaboration bringing its own colors to the same model.

The Tipping Point x adidas Adistar Control 5 “Slow Drip” is scheduled to release on November 7, 2026. A retail price has yet to be announced.
