Jean Paul Gaultier had chosen to give free rein to Chitose Abe of Sacai for the label’s next Couture collection, which was delayed due to COVID. Now it appears that the project is back on as a new Nike collaboration with the two designers has just surfaced.

The model appears to be a mid-top version of the Nike VaporWaffle dressed in a Black and White color blocking. It comes constructed in a mix of leather, nylon, and suede with added baseball glove-style stitching throughout the upper, dual-branded tongues and insoles atop a White midsole and Black rubber outsole. Jean Paul Gaultier’s signature stripe motif cover the shoe’s insole to complete the design.

UPDATE 7/7: The Sacai x Jean Paul Gaultier x Nike VaporWaffle collaboration became available for pre-order today exclusively at sacai.jeanpaulgaultier.com.
