Typically after four consecutive years of delicate care, bamboo undergoes a transformation in its fifth year. This story parallels the growth of KD’s game this past season, his fifth in the league playing for OKC, and is represented in the KD VI Bamboo.

Combined with the “precision meets performance” design philosophy of the KD VI, the Bamboo color way echoes the traditional Chinese values associated with bamboo: balance, harmony, toughness and versatility. The shoe’s green-and-bronze upper represents the color of bamboo in its different growth stages, and is overlaid with a bamboo graphic pattern design. A special KD logo on the outsole is derived from the Chinese character for bamboo. The concept extends into the shoe lining, where the design draws its inspiration from the “Six Arts” of ancient Chinese culture.

The Nike KD VI Bamboo will be available in limited quantities on September 14th at Nike.com and in select retail stores.
