Better Air Jordan 1 Low: “Travis Scott” or “Dior”

Both Travis Scott and Parisian fashion house, Dior, dropped two highly sought-after Air Jordan 1 Low releases.

Released in July 2019, the Travis Scott x Air Jordan 1 Low features a reverse Swoosh and Cactus Jack logos constructed in premium nubuck with Black and Dark Mocha tones. University Red contrasting accents with the Wings logo on the right shoe and Scott’s crudely drawn face on the left shoe completes the design.

Part of a lager collection, the Dior x Air Jordan 1 Low was released during June 2020 in a simple two-tone color scheme featuring a White Italian leather base with Grey leather overlays. Branding include a Dior Air woven tongue tag, Dior Oblique jacquard Swoosh and a Dior Wings logo on the heel tab. A White midsole atop an icy translucent outsole revealing branding underneath completes the design.

A nod to Michael Jordan’s alma mater, this Air Jordan 14 Low OG “Columbia” released in 1999 dressed in the UNC colors.

This offering of the Air Jordan 14 Low features a White leather base with perforations highlighted with Columbia Blue accents on the midsole, tongue, and heel. The shoe itself was modeled after Michael Jordan’s favorite Ferrari at the time.

Authentic storytelling is at the heart of Hebru Brantley’s work, which is why Brantley has continued to inspire and galvanise his audience for over a decade. Brantley’s characters Frogboy and Rocket were created to express a desire for freedom, a stance in solidarity and a determination to overcome.

This collective spirit to redefine what a protagonist looks like in our world is the very inspiration for the characters that Brantley creates. They inspired us to collaborate on a collection that will stand firmly in the zeitgeist and ground us in the confidence, agency and power that has always reflected the culture that inspired it.
