New Balance isn’t switching things up too much here, and honestly, it doesn’t need to. The New Balance 9060Z Pack keeps the same build people already like, then plays around with color to give it a different feel depending on the pair.

The darker option feels a bit more serious right away. Black mesh sits underneath layered panels, giving it that slightly technical look the 9060 leans into. Red touches show up on the logo, tongue, and parts of the outsole, just enough to catch your eye. The midsole stays in a darker shade, which helps everything feel more locked in.

And then you have the lighter pair. This one goes into a totally different route. While greys dominate most of the upper, they’re blended in a way that doesn’t appear washed out. Small accents of volt green are placed throughout the shoe, giving it some pop without being overpowering. The cream midsole further tones it down and meshes with that casual everyday vibe.

Really just a matter of opinion. One sneakers feels slightly sharper and more focused. While the other is more simple to throw with any outfit. Same mold, same base colourway, just a different atmosphere based on your mood.

After an early rollout through Union and Fragment channels, along with a presence during NBA All-Star Weekend in Los Angeles, the Union x Fragment Air Jordan 1 “Black/Varsity Red” is now confirmed for a wider release on February 27th via SNKRS at 10 AM ET.

This latest collaboration brings together Chris Gibbs of Union LA and Hiroshi Fujiwara of Fragment Design, two influential figures known for shaping modern streetwear. Their take on the Air Jordan 1 leans into elevated simplicity, featuring a premium leather build with bold black and red color blocking. Signature Union stitching appears along the collar, while both brands leave their mark through co-branded detailing at the collar and heel.

The release extends beyond footwear, with a full apparel collection designed to mirror the same blend of sport and street.
