Sneaker Talk: Nike SB Dunk Low “Gibson”

The Nike SB Dunk Low “Gibson” stands out as one of the most unique designs in the Nike SB lineup. Rather than drawing direct inspiration from a Gibson guitar, this 2007 release pays homage to the brand’s iconic “Guitar Case” — a nod to musicians and street performers everywhere.

The upper is wrapped in premium brown leather, reflecting the rugged exterior of a guitar case. Inside, the sneaker is lined with vivid pink faux fur, mimicking the plush protective interior that cradles a prized guitar. This bold contrast creates a standout aesthetic, making the shoe instantly recognizable.

Adding to its storytelling, the insole features graphics of dollar bills and coins, representing the buskers who often rely on tips collected in their open guitar cases. It’s a thoughtful touch that blends music culture with sneaker history.

Though the Nike SB Dunk Low “Gibson” dropped back in 2007, it’s still a sought-after piece for collectors and skaters alike. You can still find select sizes through resale platforms like StockX — but be prepared to pay a premium for this unique slice of sneaker history.

Nike Air Foamposite One “Bronze Cough Drop” Sample Surfaces

The Nike Air Foamposite One line is making waves again. With the return of the Galaxy Foamposite and the upcoming Black/Volt Foamposites, excitement is at an all-time high. As interest rises, collectors are uncovering rare Foamposite samples. One of the latest finds is the Nike Air Foamposite One ‘Bronze Cough Drop’ Sample.

Recently showcased by Index Portland, this unreleased sample merges elements from two past releases. It combines the red translucent outsole of the 2010 ‘Cough Drop’ Foamposite with an upper inspired by the 2011 ‘Metallic Pewter’ colorway. The upper features grey and olive hues, creating a unique bronze-like metallic finish.

This exclusive sample briefly appeared on Index Portland’s website on March 1st. However, it was quickly taken down—likely due to an immediate purchase by a sneaker collector. The sudden disappearance of this rare pair only adds to its mystique.

Foamposite retros are making a strong comeback, and Nike continues to push the silhouette forward. With the increasing demand for Foamposite releases, could this ‘Bronze Cough Drop’ sample ever see an official launch? Sneakerheads would certainly welcome its arrival.

A$AP Rocky x PUMA Mostro 3D Releasing in “Black” and “Silver”

PUMA and A$AP Rocky are expanding their collaborative Mostro 3D sneaker line after its initial debut in September 2024. Following Rocky’s legal battles and a recent “not guilty” verdict, the rapper-designer is back, pushing futuristic footwear design with PUMA.

The Mostro 3D is a modernized take on the 1999 Mostro racing shoe, featuring an aggressive 3D-printed spiked sole and a breathable perforated upper. It blends a slip-on design with a flexible, rubberized structure, aligning with Rocky’s high-fashion streetwear influence.

For Spring/Summer 2025, two new colorways join the lineup—Black and Metallic Silver. These monochromatic editions emphasize the sneaker’s avant-garde aesthetics, perfect for those who appreciate bold statement pieces.

Both pairs will retail for $250 USD and will be available via PUMA.com and select retailers.

Apron Records x Nike Air 180 “Team Red” Releases March 2025

Apron Records x Nike Air 180 'Team Red' sneaker with terry cloth upper and leather overlays.

London-based music label Apron Records is joining forces with Nike to deliver a fresh take on the Nike Air 180, following the “Dark Atomic Teal” version releasing on March 8, 2025. Now, a “Team Red” colorway is set to drop, blending vintage aesthetics with modern streetwear appeal.

This limited-edition Air 180 features a shaggy terry cloth upper in deep red tones, complemented by smooth leather overlays. The Swoosh comes in a unique snakeskin print, while the black scaly leather on the heel enhances the shoe’s textural depth. A rose gold heel counter adds a sleek contrast to the overall design.

A defining detail is the razorblade lace dubrae, a nod to Julien’s hand tattoo and his past as a barber. This storytelling element continues on the branded insoles, which showcase nostalgic imagery from Julien’s upbringing, including moments from his aunt’s salon where he once ran a basement barbershop.
