The 2025 MLB season kicks off on March 27, with the Los Angeles Dodgers and Chicago Cubs facing off in Japan’s Tokyo Dome as part of the MLB World Tour: Japan Series. To celebrate, Major League Baseball has partnered with Complex and Fanatics to release an exclusive apparel collection featuring Takashi Murakami’s iconic artwork.
The Japanese artist, renowned for his vibrant flower motifs, brings a fresh aesthetic to MLB gear, blending sports and streetwear culture. The collection includes customized Dodgers and Cubs jerseys adorned with Murakami’s signature flowers, along with hoodies, hats, and other apparel. A special Tokyo Series badge is also featured on the jerseys, commemorating this historic international matchup.
Announced via Fanatics’ official Instagram, the collection is a follow-up to Complex’s longstanding collaboration with Murakami, dating back to ComplexCon 2018, where he served as creative director. This marks his first venture into official MLB merchandise.
Where To Buy
The Takashi Murakami MLB 2025 Tokyo Series Collection drops on March 7, exclusively via the Fanatics app and Complex. Given Murakami’s track record in hyped streetwear collaborations, expect pieces to sell out quickly.
