Better Air Jordan 5: “Black Metallic” or “Bin 23”

Designed by Tinker Hatfield and originally released in 1990, the Air Jordan 5 debuted in four colorways during its initial run. The shoe was inspired by a World War 2 Mustang fighter jet and featured a 3M reflective tongue, mesh netting on the tongue and side panels as well as unique lace locks.

Last seen in 2016, the Air Jordan 5 “Black Metallic” returned as a remastered version of the OG colorway released back in 1990. It was a faithful reproduction of the original design that included 3M reflective tongues and “Nike Air” logos on the heels.

Part of Jordan Brand’s Bin 23 program, the Air Jordan 5 Premio “Bin 23” released back in 2011 and was limited to only 2,133 pairs. Alex Meacham, the former Cincinnati Bearcat and Air Jordan collector was the man who help design the shoe, as a nod to when Michael Jordan wore White laces on the original “Black Metallic” Air Jordan 5s. One of the key details includes the series’ signature wax seal stamped onto the heels.

Limited to 1,734 pairs, the Air Jordan 13 Premio “Bin 23” released in 2010 as part of Jordan Brand’s Premium Bin23 program that showcased unreleased models in unique builds.

Paying tribute to Michael Jordan’s love of cigars, this offering of the Air Jordan 13 features a mix of Team Red and Desert Clay covering its suede and nubuck upper, while White tumbled leather dresses the tongues and toe box. A wax seal replaces the Jumpman on the tongue, while having traditional hologram at the heel and shank plate underfoot. A solid White rubber sole completes the unique design.

Coming fresh off of checking out the upcoming “Jade Ice” colorway, we’ve come across another iteration of the women’s Dunk Low Twists offered in a “Vivid Sulfur” makeup perfect for Summer 2023.

Dressed in a Coconut Milk, Vivid Sulfur, and White color scheme. This offering of the Nike Dunk Low Twist comes constructed in a leather build with mesh tongues and lining. It features a White base with Vivid Sulfur (Yellow) overlays, Coconut Milk mesh tongues along with the model’s detachable translucent Swooshes resembling the Ambush’s recent Nike collabs. Bumpers at the toe and heel with a chunky backtab atop a White midsole and Vivid Sulfur rubber outsole completes the design.

Bruce Kilgore’s 41-year old silhouette, the Air Force 1, is getting ready for the Spring/Summer 2023 months with a new “Gingham” lineup that will be arriving in a few different color options similar to their “Paisley” series.

Dressed in a White and University Blue color scheme. This offering of the Nike Air Force 1 Low features a traditional all-White upper constructed with a leather base, mesh tongue and lining. Highlighting the shoe is the gingham print used on the Swooshes and heel overlays. Jayson Tatum’s first signature shoe with Jordan Brand, the Tatum 1, is making its debut in time for the NBA Playoffs. One of the advantages this signature has is its the lightest shoe in the brand’s performance line this season.

This specific colorway of the Jordan Tatum 1 pays homage to Archer Ave in St. Louis, Missouri, the place he was born and raised in. He also has the street sign tattooed on the left side of his back.

Dressed in a White, University Red, University Blue, and University Gold color scheme nodding to his hometown Cardinals’ Powder Blue uniforms. The shoe comes constructed a lightweight mesh upper with padded collars for ankle support. It features a lightweight TPU frame that revues excess weight, while having an uncaged Zoom Air bag in the forefoot to produce high energy return without sacrificing court feel. Notable details to this colorway includes “Archer Ave” inner tongue labels, additional branding on the heel tabs atop a White and icy translucent outsole completes the design. The shoe will be available in family sizing.

As a counterpart of the popular 550, New Balance introduced the high-top 650 that debuted when Teddy Santis, the new creative director for New Balance Made in USA, released two different Aimé Leon Dore x New Balance 650R collaborations during 2022. Adding to its lineup, the Boston-based brand reveals an upcoming “Canyon” colorway that’s perfect for Fall 2023.

Dressed in a White and Canyon color scheme. This offering of the New Balance 650 features a White smooth and perforated leather upper with Golden Yellow contrasting accents throughout and mesh collars. Jordan MVP Colorways For Fall 2023

Jordan Brand will be adding to their hybrid lineup, which includes models like the Dub Zero, Spiz’ike, Six Rings, Sixty Plus, and the Mars 270 to name a few, with this new Jordan MVP (678) silhouette.

Taking elements from the Air Jordan 6, 7, and 8, all of which were designed by the legendary Tinker Hatfield, as well as celebrating the shoes that Michael Jordan wore during his first three-peat from 1991-1993 in victories over the Los Angeles Lakers, Portland Trail Blazers and the Phoenix Suns.

Shown here are five upcoming colorways, two releasing in men’s and three for women. The two pairs for men arrive in a “Cardinals” and “Raptors” makeup, while the women’s are offered in “Khaki,” “Olive,” and “Shy Pink” color options. Other notable details nodding back to the three Air Jordans are the tongues, TPU paint strokes, midsole, and icy translucent outsole. Jumpman embroidery on the lateral ankle with “Nike Air” heel branding completes the design.
