[Release Reminder] Nike Air Force 1 Foamposite Max “Black Friday”

The Nike Air Force 1 Foamposite represents the culmination of style and innovation, 30 years in the making.

Rich in basketball heritage and respected by a community of devotees, the final One is the culmination of Nike innovations mixing together in one of its most coveted icons, the Nike Air Force 1. Receiving the all-black-everything treatment with hints of red, the final One is packed with unique accents making it a fitting end to a series of releases that celebrated the 30th anniversary of a classic.

This shoe takes its upper from the Nike Foamposite One that hit the basketball court in 1997 and gained notoriety from its unusual molded construction and a strong co-sign from a certain point guard. Coveted for its unique appearance and form-fitting qualities, the Nike Foamposite One was the first of its kind, much like the original Nike Air Force 1 was with its encapsulated air. It soon became sneaker royalty.

The Nike Air Force 1 Foamposite features the pearlized-black foamposite upper. Its traditional black colorway recieved a pearlized finish to represent the 30th anniversary that is often referred to as the “pearl year.” As a nod to the raised jewel Swoosh on the Nike Foamposite Pro, an equally popular younger brother to the aforementioned Nike Foamposite One, the lateral side is emblazoned with a high-gloss Swoosh. Moving down from the upper, the high-contrast red calls attention to the full-length Max Air bag that is sure to keep you comfortable during long days of shopping.

The finale is a major overhaul of the original “One” that is oozing with updates. Strong has become stronger as we go from full grain leather to ultra-sturdy Foamposite material. It’s level of comfort has grown exponentially with the change from a non-visible heel air unit to a completely visible full length Max unit. These changes mark the end of the Nike Air Force 1 as we’ve known it. But can it get better? Are there stronger, lighter materials somewhere waiting to be discovered? And is there anything more comfortable than air? Only time will tell.

This special edition Air Force 1 is available at select retailers beginning Nov. 23.
