Growing up in Italy, Kobe Bryant was an avid basketball and soccer player and remains a dedicated soccer fan to this day. Now Nike pays tribute to Kobe’s love of both sports with the KOBE 8 MAMBACURIAL, a basketball shoe inspired by the unique design of the Nike Mercurial Vapor IX football boot.
Since its launch 15 years ago, the Mercurial has always stood out from the rest. Bold and exciting, ultra lightweight and worn by the best in the game, the boot’s color and design ensure its players are noticed on the pitch.
The KOBE 8 MAMBACURIAL fuses key design attributes of basketball and soccer shoe uppers and includes a number of details borrowed from the Nike Mercurial Vapor IX. The striking Fireberry colorway is taken straight from the soccer boot and applied to the Nike Engineered Mesh upper of the latest Kobe Bryant signature shoe. Oversized white “NIKE” script appears on the medial side of each shoe, and an electric-lime Swoosh shifts from the side to just over the toe. “Mambacurial” is notated on the backside of the tongue, and the upper rests atop a grass graphic and translucent green rubber outsole.
“Soccer boot design has influenced my shoe in the past but the KOBE 8 MAMBACURIAL brings it full circle,” Bryant says. “It’s great to see powerful design come together across sports.”
Kobe Bryant and Nike Basketball give basketball fans the chance to familiarize themselves with soccer inspiration with the KOBE 8 MAMBACURIAL. The shoe is now available at select retailers internationally and at nike.com. In North America, the shoe will be available June 7.

Jordan Brand continues to release their hybrid Air Jordan models, and here is a preview look at the upcoming Air Jordan 1 ’89 “Green Glow”. Built with a combination from the Air Jordan 1 and the Air Jordan 4 featuring a Black base with Green Glow accents, sitting atop a White midsole. No word yet on a release date, but keep it locked to Sneaker Bar for more updates.

Here is the first look at a brand new edition of the Li-Ning model for Dwyane Wade called, Wade All City. The Li-Ning Wade All City features a Black upper with Red accents and White hints throughout. No word on if these will ever hit the states, but keep it locked to Sneaker Bar for more updates.

The latest Marimekko x Converse Chuck Taylor Hi “Blue Strawberry” collaboration is dressed in a full White canvass base with Blue Strawberry print throughout. You can find these available now in WMNS sizes at select retailers like SNS.
The Nike Blazer ’77 “Zig-Zag” have officially released overseas. Featuring an off White leather base with Grey suede touches and Bring Orange heel tabs finished with a multi-colored Zig-Zag Swoosh. You can pick these up now at select retailers like SNKRS.
New Balance and Taipei based Invincible hooked up to release a nice 1400 model. The collaboration features a Navy suede base with Creamy leather lining. Look for the Invincible x New Balance 1400 “Brogue” to debut on June 1st, at retailers like Hanon.
