The Whitaker Group and adidas Originals Launch The Do No Duplicate Series

Every so often, a project surfaces that aims to say something larger than the product itself. That direction shapes adidas and The Whitaker Group’s new Do Not Duplicate platform, which focuses on individuality, creative ownership, and the personal experiences that influence culture across sport, fashion, and everyday life.

The message carries directly into the Do Not Duplicate Houston Rodeo Pack, a footwear trio drawing inspiration from the long-standing traditions of the Houston Rodeo. Three adidas Originals silhouettes anchor the collection—Handball Spezial, BW Army, and Adiframe F50—each interpreted through design details rooted in Western riding culture.

Texture plays a major role throughout the pack. Hair-on leather panels sit beside snakeskin and croc-embossed finishes, while soft suede overlays and metal studs nod to classic Western boots and riding belts. Each pair also carries a silver Do Not Duplicate chain tag, quietly marking the platform and its emphasis on individuality.

More broadly, the collection signals how adidas and The Whitaker Group continue using footwear releases to explore cultural themes rather than relying on standard collaboration formulas.

The The Whitaker Group x adidas Originals “Do Not Duplicate” Series will retail from $150 to $240 USD. An EQL draw runs March 10th through March 16th via A Ma Maniére, Social Status, APB, and JAIDE before the collection releases March 20, 2026 online and in-store across The Whitaker Group network.

Kid Cudi Reveals Off-White Sneaker Collaboration

Nearly two decades after breaking onto the scene, Kid Cudi continues to expand his influence beyond music. During Paris Fashion Week, the Cleveland-born artist revealed a new collaboration with Off-White, introducing a small capsule that blends footwear and apparel with the brand’s signature design language.

At the center of the collection is a white-on-white version of Off-White’s chunky Out Of Office sneaker. The skate-inspired silhouette keeps its bold, retro shape while adding subtle personal touches tied to Cudi’s identity. Clean tones dominate the shoe’s upper, allowing the details and collaborative branding to stand out without overwhelming the design.

Alongside the sneaker, the capsule also includes graphic hoodies and t-shirts featuring co-branded elements tied to both Cudi and Off-White. Pieces display Scott Mescudi’s name alongside Off-White’s recognizable typography, while phrases such as “Focus” and “Artist” appear in parentheses — a familiar stylistic element associated with the brand’s past collections.

Cudi unveiled the collaboration while moving through the streets of Paris during Fashion Week, casually modeling the pieces in everyday settings around the city. The rollout offered a relaxed introduction to the project while highlighting Off-White’s continued connection to culture and music.

Although the collaboration has already made its first public appearance, official release details remain unknown. A launch date and retail pricing have not yet been announced, but the Kid Cudi x Off-White capsule is expected to arrive sometime in the near future.

Nike Kobe 8 Protro “Mambacurial” Returns August 2026

UPDATE 3/10/26: A first look at the Nike Kobe 8 Protro “Mambacurial” has surfaced, revealing the soccer-inspired colorway’s return in Protro form. The pair stays close to the 2013 original with its pink-to-purple gradient upper, Volt Swooshes, and oversized NIKE branding. The Nike Kobe 8 Protro “Mambacurial” is still expected to release on August 8th, 2026.

Original Story 11/20/25:
The Nike Kobe 8 Protro Mambacurial is officially set to return in Fall 2026, marking the first comeback for this fan-favorite since its 2013 debut. The original pair instantly stood out because it blended Kobe Bryant’s basketball identity with his lifelong love for the Mercurial Vapor football boots, creating one of the most memorable cross-sport mashups in the Kobe line.

Its bold pink-to-purple gradient upper stays true to the 2013 look, paired with oversized NIKE lettering along the lateral side — a visual cue borrowed directly from Mercurial cleats. Volt details hit the Swoosh, outsole, and heel stamp, while Kobe’s logo sits beneath the translucent forefoot. This colorway helped define the era when Kobe’s signature line leaned into lightweight speed, and the coming retro aims to keep that spirit intact.

Nike is expected to maintain the breathable mesh construction and low-profile cushioning setup found in past Kobe 8 Protros, while subtly refining materials to match modern standards. The model has been highly requested across the Kobe community, and its return stands out as one of the biggest moments in Nike Basketball’s 2026 calendar.

Kevin Durant Launches Team KD NIL Program With University of Texas

Kevin Durant and Nike are expanding their influence beyond the NBA with a new initiative focused on the next generation of athletes. Through his media company Boardroom, Durant recently introduced Team KD, a Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) platform created in partnership with the University of Texas, Durant’s alma mater.

The program aims to support student-athletes both on and off the court. Texas athletes selected for Team KD will receive exclusive player-edition footwear and apparel tied to Durant’s Nike signature line. The first athlete announced is Texas women’s basketball standout Madison Booker, who debuted the classic KD 6 “Peanut Butter & Jelly” while representing the program.

However, the initiative goes beyond traditional endorsement deals. Team KD is also designed to provide educational opportunities in sports business. Durant and the University of Texas plan to host an annual sports business summit, open to Texas student-athletes as well as students studying sports management and business. The event will focus on teaching participants about branding, partnerships, and career development within the sports industry.

The first summit is expected to take place later in 2026, marking the beginning of what could become a long-term platform connecting athletes with business and mentorship opportunities.

While the project is just getting started, Team KD signals Durant’s continued effort to invest in future talent. By combining NIL opportunities, exclusive Nike gear, and business education, the program aims to give Texas athletes tools that extend far beyond their college careers. As the initiative grows, additional athletes and expanded programming are likely to follow.

Kobe Bryant x Nike Air Force 1 Low “Lower Merion Aces” Pack Releases March 23rd

Nike continues to expand the legacy of Kobe Bryant with another tribute rooted in the basketball icon’s early days. While the signature Kobe performance line remains the centerpiece of his footwear legacy, the brand has also leaned into lifestyle models that celebrate different chapters of his career. One of the most consistent silhouettes used for that purpose has been the Nike Air Force 1 Low, which now honors Bryant’s high school program.

This upcoming release draws inspiration from Bryant’s time at Lower Merion High School, where he played for the Aces before entering the NBA. The collection arrives in two distinct versions that mirror the team’s traditional uniforms. A “Home” and “Away” split recreates the familiar color scheme worn by the school’s varsity squad during Bryant’s historic high school run.

Design details stay true to elements fans associate with Kobe-themed Air Force 1 releases. Both pairs feature snakeskin-textured uppers, a subtle nod to the “Black Mamba” persona Bryant adopted during his career. His signature sheath logo appears on the heel, reinforcing the connection to his signature line while maintaining the Air Force 1s lifestyle identity.

However, the standout touches highlight Bryant’s roots even more directly. The heels include “Aces” branding along with the number 33, referencing the jersey number he wore while dominating the Pennsylvania high school basketball scene. These details distinguish the pair from previous Kobe-inspired Air Force 1 drops while strengthening the tribute to his formative years.

Air Jordan 12 “Obsidian” Returns Spring 2027

First released in February 1997, the Air Jordan 12 “Obsidian” remains one of the more unique original colorways in the model’s history. After debuting alongside four other OG styles, the sneaker spent years in the Jordan Brand vault before eventually returning in 2012. Now, the Air Jordan 12 “Obsidian” is expected to return in 2027, celebrating the colorway’s 30th Anniversary.

1997 Air Jordan 12 Obsidian original release navy white Carolina blue
Original 1997 Air Jordan 12 “Obsidian” release.

Designed by Tinker Hatfield, the Air Jordan 12 drew inspiration from Japan’s Rising Sun flag. This influence appears through the signature stitched lines that radiate across the upper. The “Obsidian” edition stands out thanks to its deep navy leather base paired with clean white overlays and Carolina blue accents. Those UNC-inspired details reference Michael Jordan’s college roots and give the sneaker a refined yet sporty look.

When it first released, the “Obsidian” colorway broke away from the traditional Chicago Bulls palette that defined most early Air Jordans. Because of that, it became the only original Air Jordan 12 colorway never worn by Michael Jordan during an NBA game. Despite that distinction, the design quickly earned respect among collectors for its clean layout and versatile color blocking.

The model returned once before in June 2012, retailing for $160. A low-top variation also appeared in 2004, but the classic high-top version has not seen a wide retro release since the 2012 drop. Over time, the “Obsidian” has developed a reputation as a sought-after pair among longtime Air Jordan fans.

The Air Jordan 12 “Obsidian” 2027 retro is expected to stay close to its original design. The sneaker will feature its signature navy leather upper, white mudguard, and Carolina blue accents while keeping the Rising Sun-inspired stitching intact.

Air Jordan 12 Obsidian 2027 Release Date

The Air Jordan 12 “Obsidian” is expected to return in Spring 2027 as part of the colorway’s 30th Anniversary celebration. Retail price is set at $215 USD, with the release expected through Nike SNKRS and Jordan Brand retailers. More official details should emerge as the anniversary year approaches.

Nike Air Liquid Max “Poison Dart Frog” Releases March 26th

Nike is preparing to celebrate Air Max Day once again with the launch of a brand-new silhouette, the Nike Air Liquid Max, arriving on March 26, 2026. Since the event began in 2014, Nike has used Air Max Day to highlight its long-standing innovation in Air cushioning, often introducing new models that push the technology forward. In recent years, releases like the Nike Air Max Dn and Nike Air Max DN8 have focused on Dynamic Air systems, and the Liquid Max continues that tradition with a fresh approach.

The upcoming design draws inspiration from nature, specifically the Poison Dart Frog. That influence appears throughout the shoe, most noticeably in its unique Air cushioning layout and layered upper. The sneaker features a textured nanoprint construction across three layers, giving the upper a bold, almost amphibian-like appearance that mirrors the frog-inspired concept.

Underfoot, the Liquid Max introduces a newly engineered cushioning platform designed to simulate the sensation of “walking on air.” The setup features a flexible, low-profile Air unit shaped to follow the natural contours of the foot. Instead of distributing cushioning evenly across the sole, the design uses a “point-loaded” system. This means targeted Air zones are placed only where support is needed, helping reduce excess weight while maintaining comfort.

Images of the outsole reveal roughly two dozen of these individual Air zones. Together, they work to create a lightweight yet supportive ride that reflects decades of research into Air technology.

This Nike LeBron Shirt Almost Included adidas And Reebok Logos

Nike continues to tap into LeBron James’ long history with the brand through storytelling tied to the upcoming Nike LeBron 23. The latest example arrives through apparel connected to the “Shoe Bag” concept, highlighting a pivotal moment before James officially joined Nike.

While official images of the LeBron 23 “Shoe Bag” sneakers have not surfaced yet, a companion T-shirt offers a preview of the theme. The graphic design shows a Nike box filled with cash alongside crossed-out logos representing rival brands that once pursued the young basketball star.

The concept references James’ early “sneaker free agency” period in the early 2000s, when several major companies competed for his signature deal. Both adidas and Reebok aggressively tried to sign the high school phenom before he entered the NBA.

Adidas reportedly offered a lucrative contract initially worth about $10 million per year, though that figure was later reduced during negotiations. Nike ultimately secured the partnership by committing to a groundbreaking $90 million deal, which proved to be one of the most important athlete endorsements in basketball history.

Reebok also made a strong push early on. The company reportedly offered $10 million upfront if James agreed to skip meetings with competing brands. However, James and his mother, Gloria James, decided to explore all opportunities before making a final decision.

That choice changed the sneaker industry. Over two decades later, LeBron remains one of Nike’s most influential athletes and eventually signed a lifetime partnership with the company. The upcoming LeBron 23 “Shoe Bag” apparel appears to celebrate that defining moment while connecting past negotiations with James’ long-standing relationship with the Swoosh.

The T-shirt is expected to release alongside the LeBron 23 “Shoe Bag” sneakers during Summer 2026, continuing Nike’s tradition of pairing signature footwear with storytelling-driven apparel.

Nike Air Max Plus Celebrates The French Football Federation

Football continues to be one of the major sneaker trends we’ve seen dictating future Air Max releases. For its latest take, Nike is using patriotism as inspiration for the Air Max Plus “French Football Federation” edition. Think Tuned Air meets France’s football team motifs.

Large shades of blue take over on this sneaker. A mesh upper transitions from a lighter hue at the midsole to navy along the lace tab. Over top of that is the traditional wave like TPU cage, which mirrors the gradient inverse colorway with white near the collar and navy meeting back at the midsole. From heel to toe, the tones blend into one another.

Golden hues reference the Football Federation theme. A metallic layered Swoosh as well as midfoot shank reflect gold tones found on the tongue where a French Football Federation badge is displayed along with stars. Embossed Nike branding on the insole and heel showcase traditional Air Max TN branding.

The color balance and national emblem placement suggest Nike continues exploring sports-inspired storytelling within its Air Max catalog rather than simple color updates.

Nike Vomero 18 DSRPT “Iron Grey” Reinvents A Trusted Runner With Disrupted Design

Performance runners rarely receive dramatic visual makeovers, yet Nike continues to experiment with how technical footwear can look off the track. That idea drives the arrival of the Nike Vomero 18 DSRPT “Iron Grey”. a version of the brand’s dependable trainer that keeps its performance DNA intact while pushing its design in a more expressive direction.

Underfoot, the build mirrors the familiar Vomero running shoe platform trusted for daily mileage. ZoomX foam works alongside ReactX cushioning to create a smooth and stable ride that favors comfort during longer runs. The setup keeps the Nike running trainer responsive without sacrificing the plush feel that has defined the Vomero series for years.

Visual changes define the DSRPT concept. Structured mesh is utilized on the base while irregular overlays are draped overtop of the upper in tessellated fashion reminiscent of a heat map. Mirrordotting and hexagonal panels accentuate the muted black colourway while the molded Swoosh fades into the shoe. The midsole is even painted on giving this sneaker its chaotic nature.

Performance is still key with the breathable mesh allowing for more air circulation while the tongue pull tab allows for easy slip on access before your run. Geometry of the running silhouette also keeps support tuned up with even weight distribution found in the Vomero collection.

The Nike Vomero 18 DSRPT “Iron Grey” is expected to release in Summer 2026. Grab pairs through Nike.com and select retailers.

LaMelo Ball’s PUMA MB.01234 Mashups Design DNA From the MB.01 Through MB.04

Creative experimentation has become part of LaMelo Ball’s signature identity, and his latest hybrid keeps that momentum moving. The PUMA MB.01234 merges design DNA from the first four MB models into one expressive basketball silhouette.

Instead of reinventing the line, this release pulls recognizable pieces from earlier chapters. The sculpted sole unit traces back to the MB.01, giving the model its aggressive shape and traction base. Across the upper, details from later entries appear throughout the build. Flame graphics from the MB.02 stretch along the lateral panel, while claw-style marks pulled from the MB.03 land on the medial side. Toward the heel, layered and deconstructed overlays echo the experimental direction introduced on the MB.04.

Bold color blocking takes the mashup idea even further. From the neon green midsole and outsole to the glowing green laces, everything about this kicks foundation is bursting with light. Bold hot pink graphics swoosh across a textile upper like swirling spiderwebs across the forefoot and sides. On the heel pull tab is branding that reads “MELO”, while LaMelo’s signature logo can be found stamped on the tongue. A clear green outsole rounds out the shoe with more branding underneath.

The PUMA MB.01234 will drop Spring/Summer 2026 retailing for $140 USD through PUMA.com and your favorite basketball retailers.

Air Jordan 1 Low and Legacy 312 Low Take Part Of The Playful “Pinstripe” Pack

Jordan Brand often heads in a lighter, airier direction when Summer rolls around. It’s an attitude that’s echoed here on the Air Jordan “Pinstripe” Pack, uniting the Air Jordan 1 Low and Jordan Legacy 312 Low through pinstripes and soft pastels.

Opening things up is the Air Jordan 1 Low. Here, powder blue pinstripes run across the toe box and midfoot, complemented by creamy leather overlays that frame the shoe and tone down the saturation. Brown tones come through on the Swoosh and laces for added contrast. Past the eyelets, there’s beads along the laces that feature adorable extras like a gummy-bear pendant.

The Jordan Legacy 312 Low follows suit, though carries its own unique architecture. Sail leather plays atop suede mudguards that hug the bottom of the shoe. Gentle blue hues are found on the Swoosh and heel padding, while the shoe’s iconic midfoot strap returns in sandy beige with branding from Nike.

Both shoes feature pinstriped panels and coordinating blocks of pastel paint, which helps tie the pair together. Overall, the collection skews comfortably dressed-down, suggesting a lifestyle-leaning direction.

Customers can look for the Air Jordan “Pinstripe” Pack to drop Summer 2026 through Nike.com and select retailers.

Air Jordan Mule “Khaki” Blends Suede Texture With Easy Spring Energy

Some days call for laces. Others don’t. Jordan Brand clearly had the second option in mind when shaping the Air Jordan Mule “Khaki,” a Spring 2026 release that leans into ease without looking lazy.

The upper is fully dressed in khaki suede, and it feels deliberate. Not flashy. Not loud. Just clean. The texture gives the pair a soft edge, while the wide midfoot strap keeps it structured. A curved Metallic Silver “Air Jordan” badge sits front and center, catching light in a way that breaks up the tonal build without overpowering it.

There’s no heel counter here, just a backless entry that makes the Jordan Mule Khaki easy to slide into and head out. Still, it doesn’t collapse underfoot. The thick platform sole carries weight, and the outsole traction pattern adds grip that feels closer to a sneaker than a slipper. Air Jordan branding appears on the footbed and heel, subtle but clear.

Vans Marks 60 Years With Expanded Authentic Spring 2026 Collection

Six decades removed from its Anaheim beginnings, Vans is casting its gaze back on a staple silhouette. As part of its Spring 2026 lineup, the brand celebrates the Authentic, the basic canvas sneaker that helped shape its skate-first legacy during its inception.

Over a dozen colorways will make up the Vans Off The Wall Authentic Spring 2026 Collection, releasing over the coming months. Anchoring the release around its anniversary are appearances from Hayley Williams, SZA and Travis Barker, all of whom nod to the shoe’s storied connection to music and culture at large.

Traditional spins abound on several pairs in the collection. Returning in classic colorways like black and white, red and white, blue and white and navy/red, checkerboarding is alive and well. On the understated side of things, beige, tan and purple variations carry on the tradition.

Venturing outside that box, albeit only slightly, are groups like a premium Shell Knit series. With new textures as well as florals and abstract designs, these iterations update the legacy skate silhouette with fresh eyes while maintaining its core, no-frills shape.

Mix-matched color blocking caps off the release with two pairs, one of which tips its cap to Tony Alva, a professional skateboarder who helped popularize the sport.

You can score your own Vans Authentics starting March 12th at Vans retailers and online. A second collection will follow that release in April 2026. Styles range from $80-120.

The PUMA Speedcat Gets A Floral Transformation From Noir Kei Ninomiya

Fashion’s ongoing embrace of slim, motorsport-inspired sneakers continues to evolve, now stepping into more experimental territory. That direction becomes clear through the Noir Kei Ninomiya x PUMA Speedcat “Roses”, a collaboration that introduces the Japanese label’s avant-garde design language to one of PUMA’s most recognizable silhouettes.

Rather than altering the Speedcat’s low-profile structure, the project transforms its exterior. A translucent shell covered in 3D synthetic roses wraps the upper, forming a sculptural layer that still allows the classic PUMA Formstrip to remain visible underneath. The design balances delicacy and structure, adding dimension without erasing the identity of the original racing-inspired model.

Color choices stay true to Noir’s aesthetic direction. An all-black edition anchors the collection, while cyan and soft rosy versions add contrast to the darker pair. Appearing to signal a more expansive artistic direction as the label moves past its former footwear collaborations, the mix also sees him experimenting with new narratives through silhouettes from PUMA’s archive.

Expect the Noir Kei Ninomiya x PUMA Speedcat “Roses” Collection to drop Fall 2026 through PUMA.com and selected retailers.
